When Scarlett Xavier and Mrs. Rhodes returned home from shopping, Julian Rhodes was already back. He was standing by the fish pond, feeding the fish with fish feed in his hand.
"You're back?" Mrs. Rhodes spoke.
He lifted his head and responded, his gaze resting on Scarlett.
Mrs. Rhodes didn't bother them, directing the servants to bring the purchased items into the house.
Scarlett walked over to him and asked, "How did the surgery go?"
She knew that today he was performing surgery on Mr. Yang.
Julian replied, "It went well."
"So it went smoothly, congratulations." For some reason, Scarlett found that she cared more about the surgery outcome than even he did.
She even wanted to make a call to inquire.
Maybe it's because, after spending enough time with him, she discovered that beneath the identity of a doctor, he was actually just an ordinary person — one who could get angry, one who could be happy — not some sort of deity.
Julian said, "Thank you."
