After dinner, Jonah Morgan called Scarlett Xavier outside, saying he had something to talk to her about.
Scarlett walked out and saw him standing at the doorway, the light casting on him made his figure look even more slender.
Scarlett said, "Hey, bro."
Jonah turned his head to glance at her, a hint of concern appeared in his dark eyes as he looked her up and down.
Scarlett asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Jonah asked, "I heard your mom came by today, she didn't give you any trouble, did she?"
Scarlett said, "Did you come all the way over just to ask me that?"
Jonah didn't admit he came especially for her, saying indifferently, "Just thought I'd ask while I'm here."
Scarlett smiled, not sure why, but she felt he really did come just for her. "I'm fine now."
