Synopsis
Loki Laufeyson has lost almost everything, his family, his place in Asgard, and the trust of nearly everyone who once called him prince. So when Odin decides that an arranged marriage to the princess of Vanaheim might keep Loki out of trouble and strengthen the realms, neither of them gets much say in the matter. She has known Loki since they were children. Now she is expected to marry him and somehow pretend this is all perfectly reasonable? What begins with formal smiles and painfully polite conversations doesn't stay that way for long. Forced into each other's company, the two discover that arguing comes far more naturally than pretending not to care. “You are my wife. You do what I say.” “Oh, please. I’m the older one, and very clearly the wiser one.” And somewhere between the bickering, stolen glances, and a marriage neither of them chose, Loki starts wondering when exactly his greatest inconvenience became the one person he cannot imagine losing. Perhaps the trickster's heart was never meant to be won.
