Naomi Kirby stood still, watching him, the grip on her folder causing her fingertips to go pale. She held her breath, waiting for him to issue a life or death decree.
Aiden Shaw looked at her, his gaze landing on her hand.
Not hearing him speak, she spoke first, "Sir, if there's nothing else, I'll head out now."
He suddenly spoke, "How long have you been with me?"
She hesitated for a moment, a layer of melancholy in her eyes, as if the topic had reduced the deliberate distance between them. She softly replied, "Ten years."
Ten years ago, she was a freshman, interning at the company he had just founded.
