In the underworld, Hades taunted and teased Marlena, holding the mirror in his hand like a jewel.
"Marlena, you're not getting any younger, you know."
She crossed her arms and ignored him, sitting on a rock.
She would have called Shadow to get her out of this mess but that was yet another demon who answered to Hades. He would simply do as the lord of the underworld instructed him, anyway.
Seeing her resolute expression, Hades laughed in jest. "You will not achieve anything by stalling me. If I can wait for twenty years, how much longer do you think I can wait?"
"What are you waiting for?" she asked.
He laughed, finding her amusing. "Nice try, but you cannot coax anything out of me."
It was worth a try, she thought.
Although she had failed to make him state what he wanted, she was not going to give in to his demand. She continued bidding her time, refusing to subject Destrian to whatever it was that the evil demon was planning.
