Vyrath's chalk white scales shimmering under the midday sun as he soared above the clouds. Alfraed perched on the elder dragon's shoulder, Snow and Blaze nestled comfortably against his chest. Mikaela sat cross-legged in Vyrath's palm, her cerulean hair catching the wind as she gazed at the horizon. The Demon Country loomed in the distance, its dark forests and jagged mountains stark against the sky.
"Mika," Alfraed called over the rush of wind, his single eye narrowing as he glanced at her. "Are we sure this is… permitted? An elder dragon flying straight into the Demon Country seems like it might raise more than a few eyebrows."
Mikaela grinned, her crimson eyes gleaming with amusement. "Relax, my beloved. I sent word ahead. My family knows we're coming, and I may have mentioned we'd be arriving in style." She leaned back against Vyrath's scaled fingers, her horns catching the light. "The military won't attack—probably."
Alfraed raised an eyebrow. "…P-probably?"
