Morning came, and Tessa Caldwell forgot her keys again on the way to work.
This time, she didn't call Faye because of Cian Channing. She didn't want to talk to him, so she sent a message instead and then squatted outside the door waiting for him, which turned into a two-hour wait.
Though the weather wasn't exactly cold, the temperature dropped significantly at night, and Tessa was wearing too little. Standing outside for two hours, she was shivering from the cold, her nose running.
Yet she stubbornly refused to call Faye to hurry him and didn't find a café or somewhere else to sit outside. She squatted at the door as if sulking on her own.
When Faye returned, Tessa was already frozen, her face pale and nose red, looking pitiful.
"Tessa Caldwell, why didn't you just call?" He rarely checks his phone for messages, and she knew it. Why not call?
Faye felt both sorry for her and angry but was helpless.
