Lucy Lawson rolled her eyes and said, "Well, I wouldn't know."
Tessa Caldwell sighed in frustration, "I lost my temper just now and yelled at him. Lately, things haven't been going well at work for him, so he's been in a foul mood. I probably shouldn't have confronted him when he's at his lowest. It's not fair of me. What should I do now?"
"What do you mean, what should you do?" Lucy felt a bit exasperated and replied casually, "Just let it go."
Tessa pouted, "But he hasn't come home yet. It's almost midnight."
Lucy grit her teeth, "Tessa Caldwell, can you have some dignity?"
Tessa responded, "This isn't about dignity. He's a friend and he's helped me, even entered into a contract marriage with me. I ought to be grateful to him... Never mind, I won't talk to you about this anymore..."
After hanging up with Lucy, Tessa thought about calling Faye.
But she realized he was probably still upset, and guessed he wouldn't answer if she called, so she silently put the phone away.
