Tessa Caldwell shook her head quickly, "No..."
She raised her eyes to look at Faye, feeling very conflicted, and said in a low voice, with a negotiating tone, "How about we postpone the wedding?"
Right now, it seems the only strategy she can use is delay.
"Postpone the wedding?" Faye was a bit stunned, as the invitations had already been sent out, and the wedding was just a week away, so postponing it now was certainly inappropriate.
He asked, "Why postpone the wedding?"
Tessa Caldwell bit her lip and pouted, "I just feel it's not quite right for us. How can we proceed without me first meeting your grandfather, and gaining his approval? Without it, he surely won't ever accept me as his granddaughter-in-law."
"I haven't seen him for five or six years. It's not that I don't want to see him, but he doesn't want to see me. He won't even see me, do you think he'd see you?" Faye squeezed her little hand while speaking, half-seriously.
