Only recently did Tessa discover that her wedding dress used to be worn by Faye's mother.
No wonder on her wedding day, so many people praised the beauty of her wedding dress. She thought the style was a bit outdated at the time, but since it was prepared by her grandfather, she liked it very much. When others said it was beautiful, she took it as a compliment. It was only later she found out about this additional twist.
Because of this, she even teased Faye: "Mr. Carver, turns out wearing brand names and luxury goods is an odd thing in your family. Then why did you buy me so many branded clothes?"
"I thought you would like them." Chuck admitted for the first time that he was catering to her tastes.
But Tessa felt he had made an error, even though most modern people's values are like this.
"Why would I like them? Even though liking luxury goods doesn't necessarily mean loving money, your words make it sound like I love money."
