Qian sent Da Yi back and returned home herself. As soon as she arrived at the doorstep, she saw her big brother's car parked downstairs. The car was empty, without a driver, meaning her brother had driven over himself.
Qian checked the time; it was still before the end of work. But her brother's absence meant Xiaoqiang had picked him up to go home. If Xiaoqiang had taken leave from work to come back, it seemed her brother was dealing with something serious this time.
Upon entering the room, she indeed saw Xiaoqiang and her brother sitting on the sofa together. Qian glanced at the coffee table—it was empty.
Not even a cup of tea had been brewed for her brother, indicating the matter was significant enough that such things were being neglected.
After returning, Qian didn't join the conversation directly. Instead, she walked toward the kitchen. Xiaoqiang immediately stood up.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm making tea."
"You go sit down, I'll do it."
