Chapter 111 - Chapter 111 : New Teacher

Atop an enormous mountain range, brilliant shafts of sunlight pierced the jagged gaps between the peaks, illuminating the deep canyons below.

A straight, solid stone pathway stretched flawlessly from the rugged outskirts all the way to the misty hilltop, buzzing with the steady rhythm of luxurious carriages and high-born travelers arriving and departing.

At the absolute pinnacle of this path, flanked by towering summits, stood a magnificent architectural marvel. This was the famous and illustrious Rose Petal Royal Academy of the Felineca Empire.

The academy stood as the premier, elite institution for any aspiring Beast Tamer.

It was a sprawling estate equipped with top-class cultivation facilities, bordered by a massive, diverse wild beast den, and fully staffed by the empire's most highly qualified personnel.

Naturally, an enterprise of this scale was heavily backed by the Royal Family and supported by all the major Noble Clans.

For the high-class aristocracy, sending their descendants here was considered the mandatory first step into the real world, a world heavily saturated with subtle politics, social stratification, and calculated mind games.

Of course, the truly talented prodigies rarely bothered to indulge in such nonsense; within the borders of the empire, undeniable strength was the only connection one ever needed to dictate terms.

The Elite First-Years

Inside the grand halls, over twenty students sat quietly within a pristine lecture hall, waiting for their instructor to arrive and impart their wisdom.

Rose Petal Royal Academy Class hierarchy was classified into General Tier, Advanced Tier, Genius Tier and Elite Tier.

This specific gathering of twenty-odd youths represented the absolute cream of the crop. Only those blessed with monumental, peerless talent were capable of securing a permanent seat within the Elite Classes; having a flashy family pedigree or an impressive background simply didn't cut it at this level.

The stakes for this specific classroom were so high that even the Principal himself would occasionally step down from his tower to deliver a select few lectures.

Within the empire, the Principal commanded a social status no lower than a high Duke, and his personal cultivation parameters had long since consolidated at the formidable Lieutenant Stage (Peak Rank 1 Magus).

Because the students here were nobles of the highest order, they carried an innate arrogance.

However, when navigating a room populated strictly by peers of the exact same social standing, they wisely kept their haughty facades hidden.

Being little more than children aged thirteen or fourteen with many in the Elite tier being notably younger, they naturally gravitated toward one another, forming small, localized cliques.

"I heard a rumor that a completely new teacher has been assigned to take over our classes," one student whispered, leaning across the mahogany desk.

"What? A young one?" a second prodigy countered, his brow furrowing in immediate skepticism. "Aren't all the instructors assigned to the Elite Classes required to be master teachers with extensive tactical experience, monumental strength? How could a novice possibly take charge of our group?"

A flurry of hushed, intense discussions instantly rippled across the rows.

A few select students possessing deep-seated political connections had already managed to extract intelligence regarding this mysterious new arrival.

Though remarkably young, the man had joined the academy's faculty a short while ago and immediately demonstrated an impeccably high spiritual abilities.

His historical performance across every single introductory class he conducted had been flawless.

Achieving sky-high success, his previous students had routinely claimed the top ranks during the academy's seasonal evaluations, securing a success rate that was labeled as downright ridiculous.

Driven by these results, he had been officially promoted this season to assume a coveted teaching post within the Elite section, and rumors suggested he was extraordinarily favored by the Principal himself.

Traditionally, young instructors regardless of how brilliant they were as tamers were strictly barred from managing Elite sections, simply because no amount of intelligence could ever bypass the decades of real-world experience required to mold elite seedlings.

For the academy rules to bend so drastically, the students deduced that this man was either an unprecedented genius, or he possessed a back-door influence so fearsome that even the board of directors had to comply.

In a gathering of future rulers, being the primary mentor to a batch of hyper-capable seedlings was an immense honor and a massive political opportunity, one that was fiercely cherished and fought over by the empire's elite.

Tap. Tap.

The steady, deliberate rhythm of approaching footsteps resonated from the corridor, instantly freezing the chatter inside the room. Every eye in the class locked onto the entrance just before the podium.

The heavy doors parted, and a tall, imposing figure stepped smoothly into the lecture hall. He wore a sleek gray robe that wrapped tightly against his frame, flawlessly accentuating a powerful, perfectly toned physique. Cascading neatly down his back was long, pristine white hair, creating a striking contrast against a pair of elegant, beautiful blue eyes.

His effortless charm, posture, and heavy ambient aura were clear, immediate indicators of a noble identity.

He walked steadily up to the podium, leaning his frame casually against the edge of the heavy table as his sharp gaze swept across the young prodigies. A charming smile played on his handsome features.

"Hello, everyone. My name is Lucian Alistair," his soothing, resonant voice echoed effortlessly through the room. "I am your newly assigned group teacher, and I will be formally taking charge of your classes from today onward. My areas of expertise encompass Beast Studies, Body Strengthening, Strategy, and Combat. It is an absolute pleasure to meet all of you."

Gazing up at his breathtakingly handsome face and listening to the smooth melody of his voice, several of the young noble girls in the front rows instantly flushed a deep crimson, rapidly bowing their heads to hide their expressions while continuing to steal bashful peeks at him from behind their books.

The total duration of a student's journey through the Rose Petal Royal Academy spanned a period of five years. According to imperial protocol, the first two years were dedicated entirely to mastering vast, comprehensive theoretical subjects encompassing a myriad of historical and biological fields.

While the sheer volume of data was immense, it posed little challenge to a room full of intelligent geniuses. During this foundational two-year block, a singular group teacher was assigned to oversee their collective development.

Once the period concluded, the curriculum would shift entirely toward practical combat application, at which point their assigned mentor would typically change to match their specific combat styles.

'Interesting.' Lucian thought to himself, his eyes calmly sweeping across the lecture hall.

The arrogant and haughty young prodigies didn't react loudly to his sudden introduction. Given their high noble lineages, he had expected an overt display of disdain toward an unfamiliar, youthful instructor.

Instead, a silence filled the room. No one openly questioned his teaching capabilities or showed outright defiance.

Lucian was somewhat impressed by this unexpected display of maturity and situational awareness from a bunch of 14 year old brats.

These teenagers possessed the discipline not to antagonize the person who was explicitly placed in charge of their academic future. They understood perfectly that there had to be a reason why the administration had allowed someone so young to take over their section, and they had absolutely no desire to test those boundaries at their own personal expense.

"Let's get started then," Lucian announced smoothly, stepping away from the podium. "We will begin our curriculum with introduction to mechanics of the Beast Tamer's Physique and Distinction. I have no intention of boring you 'geniuses' with a tedious, lengthy introduction today. If you crave dry overviews, please feel free to read the provided textbooks at your own leisure."

As he spoke, several students instinctively reached down to flip open their heavy manuals.

Noticing their immediate distraction, Lucian let out a sharp, non-verbal click of his tongue. Catching his subtle reprimand, the students quickly huffed in annoyance, slamming their books shut in unison.

Lucian simply smiled at their irritation, his voice remaining cool and measured. "There is a fundamental difference between the physical composition of a normal person and a true Beast Tamer. And no, I am not merely talking about the restriction where a commoner can only train along the Warrior's Path while a chosen individual can execute bonds with monsters. I am talking about something infinitely more advanced: the Spirit Aura that each and every Beast Tamer possesses."

He paused, leaning back against the edge of the master desk as his piercing gaze locked onto the rows of students.

"Have you ever actually stopped to wonder exactly how this Spirit Aura comes to be? What is the precise process governing the different forms of contracts and spiritual bonding with a wild beast, and exactly how deep does that metaphysical connection run? Furthermore, what is the true difference between the Corporal Stage and the Sergeant Stage? What does that shift truly signify?"

The moment Lucian threw the questions into the air, a flurry of hands shot up across the room, the young elites eager to display their theoretical knowledge.

Lucian's eyes casually scanned the sea of raised arms before coming to a sudden halt, locking onto a beautiful girl sitting near the center aisle.

She possessed striking, silver-colored hair and an indifferent, cold gaze. Her demeanor was refined and elegant; she hadn't raised her hand a single inch, instead exuding a confidence as if every piece of advanced knowledge he could possibly utter was already known to her.

Intrigued by her quiet detachment, Lucian purposely bypassed her, pointing his finger directly at the young man sitting immediately to her right.

"You there," Lucian commanded. "Can you please answer the question?"

The boy straightened his posture, a smug, arrogant smile plastered across his face. He kept subtly stealing sideways glances in the silver-haired beauty's direction, clearly harboring a crush on her and viewing this as the perfect stage to impress her.

"The Spirit Aura is the divine inheritance left behind by our sovereign Gods and Holy Beings," the boy explained loftily, lifting his chin. "They blessed our ancestors with their divine power, choosing a distinct class of greater people to rule and protect the world on their behalf. Only true Nobles blessed with a bloodline possess the internal capacity to enter into a 'True Contract' with an apex beast. This unique bond is what ultimately separates us, making us True Beast Tamers, the rightful descendants of our ancestors' sacred blood! Commoners, on the other hand, can only dream about wielding this tier of strength."

Listening to his passionate speech, the surrounding noble students couldn't help but nod their heads in collective pride.

This elitist doctrine was exactly what they had been conditioned to believe since birth. The only two individuals in the entire lecture hall who remained completely unfazed and unimpressed by the performance were Lucian himself and the silver-haired girl.

Clap. Clap.

Lucian lazily clapped his hands together, walking slowly to the very edge of the raised podium. "Good! Mythologically speaking, your answer is quite beautiful. Egotistically, it is downright magnificent... But sadly, you receive zero points. Because what I care about in this classroom is only what can be proven logically."

In a fraction of a second, the serene, kind smile completely vanished from Lucian's handsome features. His expression turned ice-cold. Without a single warning gesture, a magnificent, suffocating wave of spiritual pressure erupted from his physical frame, instantly paralyzing the entire room.

The atmosphere grew impossibly heavy, transforming the air into what felt like liquid lead.

The students' faces twisted into masks of absolute horror. None of them could draw a proper breath; their lungs burned as they found themselves completely useless and utterly defenseless against the crushing weight of his unmitigated aura.

The arrogant boy who had just delivered the speech let out a muffled, terrified shriek. Under the direct gravity of Lucian's cold gaze, his legs buckled completely, his body collapsing backward onto his seat entirely on its own as he shivered in terror.

A long moment passed before the suffocating pressure abruptly dissolved. The warm, placid smile returned to Lucian's face, making the preceding display of god-like dominance appear as nothing more than a passing, horrific nightmare.

"You are not washed-up, has-been, idiot Nobles who require a huge stick up your asses to feel important, blindly believing in a mountain of fabricated nonsense," Lucian spoke, his voice dropping into a dangerously calm melody. "If your claim regarding sacred bloodlines were actually true, then let me ask you: how is it that commoners routinely manifest the ability to become powerful Beast Tamers? Let me knock some hard facts into your skulls. Our esteemed and respected Principal, Keith Henry? His father was a ordinary, low-born commoner. He became a Wandering Beast Tamer, threw himself into exceptionally risky frontier assignments, and served the empire with distinction. After accumulating a mountain of military merits, he used his wealth to enroll his son into this very elite academy. Decades later, that son of a common man became pretty uncommon, wouldn't you say?"

Lucian leaned forward, his eyes boring into their trembling forms. "You are young, and you are undeniably talented. As such, you should always train your eyes to see underneath the underneath. Always strive to remain one step ahead of the common herd; only then can you rightfully call yourselves true elites. Do not coddle your egos by foolishly thinking you are the absolute best this world has to offer. Tell me... when standing before the absolute geniuses of the Four Great Dynasties and their royal academies, where do any of you even stand?"

His harsh, unyielding words brought about a profound lull across the classroom. The young nobles fell completely silent, forced to process the reality of his message.

While a few exceptionally arrogant individuals merely scoffed beneath their breath, choosing to ignore the lesson to preserve their pride, the vast majority of the students entered a rare state of self-reflection.

The silver-haired girl looked up at Lucian in surprise, her cold, indifferent expression warming into a look of intense academic interest.

"Am I understood?" Lucian asked gently, his tone returning to that of a polite scholar.

In response, every single student in the room immediately nodded their heads like a flock of synchronized chickens.

Even those who internally disagreed with his philosophy didn't dare to show a single hint of defiance.

Through his brief display of power, Lucian had established the absolute rules of his classroom: he was an entity that was never to be messed with.

Lucian offered a satisfied smile. Turning back to the chalkboard, he picked up a piece of white chalk and began plotting out a series of dense, complex anatomical diagrams.

"Spirit Aura," Lucian lectured, the chalk scratching sharply against the board, "is the physical manifestation of a Beast Tamer's underlying soul consciousness. By refining this energy, a practitioner can completely subdue the wild instincts of a monster, forging a symbiotic spirit contract that binds their life forces together in a union."
