Chapter 12 - Chapter 11

Reading the message on the paper, really made me question who actually wrote this, the note said, "I will meet you soon, preferably at a place with people. Throw a party." I looked up when the horn honked from the mustang. My father looked at me, so did the people around the area, I walked more slowly to tick him off, which really worked.

The drive was silent, I realized that most of my questions I wanted to ask never got answered, 'I guess I'll have to find out the hard way.' We continued our way home only stopping once at a fancy restaurant to have an early dinner and to use a restroom.

"Daughter, how much do you know about the Mafia King?" He asked breaking the silence between us. I looked forward keeping my face neutral looking out the windshield, it was lightly raining and traffic was slowing down.

"He's someone that has two-thirds of the country's Mafia under his hand, other than our major group. He is also a young CEO, named Jacob King who inherited his business from his father that retired giving the young man the spotlight.

"King is coming pretty close to being a huge successful CEO, coming second place to Young. Inc., he was also the one you reached out for the deal of marriage, and giving him the company for a selfish reason." I stopped when he firmly gripped the steering wheel, making a sharp turn. He turned on an exit that led to a road that had a forest on both sides of the roads.

"Yes, I did that okay, and I also went to him three years ago when he came to the top. Telling him I had a pure blood to give him, for more influence in the Mafia underworld. Your brothers told me a year within each other, that they didn't want the business. I was desperate for power, and I was willing to give you up." He spoke in a clear voice, he parked on the side and looked distantly into the woods.

"Why am I not surprised. All you want is power." I spoke aloud then got out of the car taking advantage of the break. The cool breeze brushing past lightly, and the sweet smell of rain drawing near. He stayed in the car and waited patiently for me, I opened the door and sat in the seat quietly, watching the cities blur as e continued to home.

Parking the Mustang in the garage, Father pulled the key out of the engine, before he could opened the door I spoke up. For the last forty-five minutes of silence, we were stuck in our heads thinking about different things.

"Since I didn't kill anybody, and because the Mafia King has requested to be invited to a party. I would like to throw one, but I guess we'll have to wait until my introduction." I opened the door and got out of the car, hoping that he would catch the bait.

"Mackenzie, I have decided that since your graduation is coming up it's only fair to introduce you right after you graduate. I won't mind throwing a party, it will have to be a masquerade party if Mr. King is coming. He also sent that message to me. I'll send a personal invite to him." He spoke and walked into the mansion leaving me alone again. I move to the front door and slipped through without drawing attention, until I got to my room.

Waking up the next morning, I felt normal, rolling out of the queen sized bed, I got dressed. I put on a skirt, a cute t-shirt, a little bit of make-up, finishing the outfit with a pair of sandals. Grabbing my computer bag, I went into the kitchen and grabbed a cereal bar and walked out to the garage.

Jonathan was waiting by the Jeep, like usual. He looked up when the backdoor opened and he smiled. He opened the door for me then hopped into the front seat.

"You're up early miss, are we going somewhere different?" He asked, while backing out of the garage. I rode in the backseat, reading my book that I bought in Manchester.

"No, just school." I spoke aloud, finishing the chapter I was on, then looked up. "What does it feel like for you?" I asked looking into the rear-view mirror watching him interpret what I asked.

"You mean shifting, don't you? Well miss, us Lycans are different from werewolves. We have the ability to shift anytime, and are not seen by human eyes. Werewolves are fully controlled by the moon, unlike lycans, however we both become stronger with the moon.

"You're a special Lycan. The supernatural world consist of many species, although lycans and shapeshifters come at the top. The hierarchy of Lycans, starts with supreme Alphas at the top(or pure blood), then regular Alpha's then the soldiers or regular lycans." He took a breath and met my gaze in the rear-view mirror.

"What makes you special is, you are the last pure blood female Lycan, from the ancient line. Which means that you are destined to be mated with another pure blood Lycan, which there are only two left that aren't taken." He spoke as he turned right into an intersection. I digested this information on the way to school leaving the car silent.

"That means that I have a higher status than most wolves, but also my father, who is also a regular Alpha." I spoke when we pulled up, it was to early to walk in, and I didn't want to. Jonathan nodded agreeing with my answer.

"Although you have Alpha blood in you, I would advise you not to fight your father just yet. When you find you partner that would be the time to dominate your status. You could do it now, but he would make sure the company dies before giving it to you." He spoke then looked at his phone, where he was texting his wife.

"How is she?" I asked watching more cars pull up, we were parked in the school parking lot. He looked up and smiled, I knew that she was his mate, every time she was mentioned he glowed up, but his beast would get defensive.

"She's doing good, she's pregnant with our third child. I hate not being home all the time, but this gives a great income to stabilize my family. I'm thinking about asking to move out of the compound and living with my family, but I'm unsure what he would say." Jonathan spoke in a sad tone leaving the car quiet until I spoke.

"Then it's not my father's decision. I say go and live with your family, I'm fine and I can have another driver. Don't let anyone stop you from your family, because I know I wouldn't." I hopped out of the Jeep and walked to the cafeteria where I spent most of my time waiting for Jace.

School was quick with a couple of rehearsals for the graduation ceremony. I was happy that this was happening, I was one step closer to my dream. When school let out, Jonathan pulled up and I hopped into the car smelling the scent of two children.

"School?" He asked as I looked at the two kids in the back, since I was in shotgun. They both smile and greeted me in the polite manner, as I did. [They're beautiful.] I said in the mind-link when I spoke about school. He smiled and drove the quick way to my home.
