Chapter 23 - Chapter 22

"Daughter." I woke up at the sound of the door opening. George stood up and greeted the man. I didn't bother lifting my head, since I was still waking up. "How did her lesson go?" I could feel the glare in my direction, however George covered me.

"She did well, even the instructor was pleased." He looked in my direction, once I sat up, stretching my arms out wide.

"I needed a nap. Sorry if I missed anything important." I looked around the room, other than the leather chairs and the oval table, the room had nothing else. I listened to see if there were any onlookers, there was a hitched breath as I looked to the left of my chair.

"It's not polite to hide and listen to other people's conversations. Who are you?" The lady rushed to my feet and cried. Looking at me with her tear covered face, eyes red and her breathing off. I narrowed my eyes, 'something isn't right.'

Both men stayed back as she continued to cry. It was when she shifted that I smelt the strong scent of blood, I turned and looked to the men who were wide eyed.

"What happened?" I asked as I grasped her chin forcing her to look into my eyes. [Leave.] I left the command flow through, George bowed his head in respect, and Alex gritted his teeth. However he backed away and left the room completely.

"There was a strange man among crowd of reporters." I picked her up, since she was light and placed her on the table. The smell of blood was strong causing a headache, I looked around for any wounds.

"Where is the blood?" I asked pausing her story. She looked to me and then pulled up her pants leg, there it was a long gash, flowing with blood. I took a breath then pressed my black overcoat on the wound.

"Now tell me, what did this man looked like?" She nodded and spoke through her trembling lips.

"H-he was tall, he had d-dark brown hair. His eye were also brown, w-with a hint of red." She took a breath, calming herself, to stop the stuttering. "He told me to relay a message to the new heiress. You're the only new female here, so I entered while you were asleep." I had placed enough presser to slow the flow. I saw her color slowly drain, she looked deathly pale.

[Please tell me you were intelligent enough to call the ambulance.] I spoke and George replied.

[Of course, we can smell the blood from another floor.] I watched her carefully and told her to keep her focus on me.

"The message?" I spoke and she took another deep breath.

"He said, 'Tell her the King is coming for you. It won't be long now.' I don't know." She looked panicked, I knew my face was dark, 'who dares to threaten me?' I thought just as the first responders rushed in.

They picked her up gently, keeping pressure on the wound. I watched the girl faint in the arms of the nurse. The officer watched them leave then turned her focus on me.

"What happened?" She asked, I walked to the mini sink in the corner, washing my hands of the blood, I knew it was on my white shirt, but my hands felt gross.

"I don't know, she said it was somebody in the crowd of reporters that rushed by about an hour ago. I walked in and found her bleeding in a corner. So did Chairman Young and his bodyguard George, they would be witnesses." I walked back and examined the placed, and stepped away again, the scent of blood was throwing off my senses.

"Thank you, I guess we'll have to ask the subject." I nodded and the officer left the room. I grabbed my things and left the room. Pressing the button to the top floor, I arrived to the office and took a seat. I looked over my notes for awhile, then grew tired and stood up and walked to the south window, glancing in the direction the city.

"You smell." I turned around when I heard the voice of my father then turned away, getting back to the view.

"I'm sorry to offend you, I just couldn't help not bringing extra clothes. Did you find the suspect through the security footage?" I spoke sarcastically then turned and walked toward him, brushing past him, irritated him commented on my situation.

"Nobody fits the description, what was said to you?" He asked as I took a seat in the well cushioned chair. I growled in frustration, then pulled up an app that allowed me to color. I colored for an hour before father called my attention.

"Since you've calmed down, what was with the command earlier?" I looked at him then the documents in front of him. There was a document that was an alliance between Young Inc. and Omega's.

"She was imitated by both of us, however you're the Chairman and you were unwanted at the time." I took a deep breath, "Somebody is looking for me, somebody that I don't want near." I looked away and saw it was lunchtime.

"Hmm." He muttered then stood up, holding out a clean shirt, he handed it to me. I was grateful, even if it was on the big side, it was better than the blood stained white one.

I changed in the private bathroom and straightened out my hair, I looked into my reflection. Who could already want me, within the first day of being announced. I splashed my face with cool water, and let out a deep sigh.

"The King is coming for me, it won't be long." I repeated as I put back on the dreadful heels and walked out, 'there are many kings.' I thought as I stepped out of the room. My father's shirt was a light blue, and was rolled up in a couple of places.

"Lunch?" He asked as he looked up from his paperwork. I nodded in response, honestly I wanted to go back to bed. However I can do that on the road trip.

Lunch was a club sandwich with sweet tea and a salad. I looked around the building for the fifth time, searching for eyes. I was slightly irritated that even my father looked confused.

"What's wrong?" He took a bite into his sandwich, he was also looking around, wondering why his daughter was looking around constantly.

"I don't know, ever since the party I've felt like I'm being watched." I looked him into the eyes and he looked like he shrugged it off.

"It's normal, since you are practically the most famous person right now." He finished his sandwich, while half of mine was still left uneaten, and will stay that way.

"I should go home, I've literally been around people that have drained me." I looked at him waiting for him to give me permission, however he just shook his head.

"Actually, I have a stack of paperwork you can look over, before I hand it to my secretary." I faked smiled then let out another sigh, one of many. This day started off on a rough start, then the was the lesson which drained me, and then the incident with the heavy amount of blood.

"I didn't realize that it would be hard." I looked at him as he was trying to guess my statement. [being around blood, I couldn't focus, until I slowed the flow.] He nodded in agreement then stood up. I stood up with him as he paid the bill while I rushed to the restroom.

"A couple more hours then you can take another nap." I muttered then turned around accidentally bumping into a woman.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention." She picked up her dropped phone, luckily there wasn't a crack.

"Neither was I, I'm glad your phone is okay." I took a step toward the door quickly and made it out before she grabbed my wrist.

"I'm ready to go." I lead the way to the car, George started the suburban, opening the door for the chairman. I shook my head when he tried to open the door. I hopped in quickly and picked up the folder under my seat.

"When did he reach out?" I asked needing to know more about the man I'm meeting. His record showed no signs of being unstable, however that could also be false.

"He reached out a couple of months, the terms might change, however George will know what to do, he'll explain. Right now we need to focus on the company business." I nodded and waited for us to pulled up to the parking lot.

"Alright." I muttered.
