Bai Yiyi slept until noon.
It was Tongtong who woke her up.
Opening her eyes, Bai Yiyi saw Tongtong holding strands of hair, trying hard to insert them into her nose but failing due to her clumsy technique.
Bai Yiyi was amused by her adorable antics. However, when she raised her head, she saw Gu Kai sitting on the sofa not far away. Her smile froze abruptly.
Gu Kai stood up, his long legs stepping to the bedside. "Awake?"
"Why are you here?"
Bai Yiyi's gaze shifted slightly as she asked coldly.
Gu Kai's lips curved in a faint smile as his eyes drifted to the strands of hair in Tongtong's hand. "The surgery is over, and I'm back. I thought about it and decided—having you find another place isn't the best idea."
"Why?"
Bai Yiyi frowned. If he hadn't coaxed her mother into renting out the house, would she have needed to rent one herself?
Thinking of this, Bai Yiyi lowered her gaze again. Her long lashes masked the fleeting sadness in her eyes.
