Maybe he thought that since he had already begged so much, Ye Fei, being just a young girl, would be soft-hearted.
Moreover, he couldn't swallow his pride, yet he still wanted to play the good guy.
The things he did involved Ye Fei and Xiao Mo.
If Ye Fei, as the person involved, expressed forgiveness towards him.
Then the old man wouldn't have any reason to punish him further, would he?
At least, there'd be no reason to punish so severely.
So Zhao Guqing kept apologizing to Ye Fei shamelessly.
For his own sake, what's a little shame?
Zhao Guqing felt he was being quite adaptable.
The old man was worried Ye Fei would find it hard to directly refuse Zhao Guqing, making it seem like she was particularly heartless.
So, he spoke up: "You don't need to beg Ye Fei, even if she forgives you, my orders will not change."
