Gu Ran hadn't had a chance to ask what exactly it was, and the other end had already hung up swiftly.
She stomped her feet in frustration because there were cameras everywhere during the recording session. She quickly greeted the director's team and then found a corner without people to dial her home's number.
When her family answered her call, they were shocked, "Xiao Ran, aren't you recording? Why are you calling home? What's wrong?"
Gu Ran, flustered, asked, "Where's Dad? He's not at home?"
"Your dad's at the company."
Her mother sensed something was off in her tone and anxiously pressed, "Why are you asking about your dad?"
Hearing her father wasn't home, Gu Ran mumbled an excuse and hung up.
But her heart was still shaking. She thought it over and over again, then found her father's number and called.
The phone rang at least ten times before it was answered, and it wasn't her father's voice: "Hello, Miss, is there something you need?"
