"I don't actually consider myself as a vampire," Adam said. Ella wasn't expecting that. She expected more for Adam to accept that he was a vampire. However, that wasn't what happened.
"But...but… your parents were vampires," Ella wondered, and she needed an explanation from Adam.
"Oh, you already knew about them…." Adam looked away. He was reminded of how long they had hidden that secret from him. He grew up wondering what he was, why Adam was alone, and why he had never seen his parents.
He thought that the older woman he had known as his nanny was the only family he had. He felt that he was an orphan. It was only when Adam reached his teenage years that he wondered and was looking for an answer.
