That night, Zaire didn't sleep.
Not even a wink.
He'd cleaned a sleeping Nour carefully, like he was scared he would break him, yet at the same time, as if that pretty little wolf was worth all the care and love the world could offer.
Then he tucked him in bed, taking his shirt off, and putting it on Nour. He wanted the prince to wake up smelling like him, to smell him first before his nose caught any other scent.
Oh, but he was down bad for the man.
And for the whole night, in the dim candle-lit room, Zaire watched over his Erasthai, desperate to be the first one Nour saw when he woke up.
Maybe it was a sudden realization, but he had just noticed that so much time had passed, and what they had shared was so little compared to what Zaire had hoped for. But there was still time to fix that, right?
These past years, Zaire was always the first to wake up, and when Nour did wake up, he always found Zaire preparing breakfast for him.
But today was different.
