As the second number was uttered, Prince Otto's wand twitched slightly, and a pitch-black secret passage emerged from the wall behind him.
Holding Princess Paola hostage, the Prince slowly retreated backwards, while Landon, concerned for Paola's safety, dared not act to stop him.
"Here's the book! Let her go!"
With a flicker in his eyes, Landon suddenly pulled out a thick book with a yellow cover and threw it on the ground between the two.
"Not this one."
However, after a brief glance at the book on the ground, Prince Otto sneered.
"I told you, don't try to play tricks."
By this time, he had retreated into the secret passage with Paola.
"Fine then, you can perish here with it. Surely that book shouldn't be so easily damaged!"
Accompanying the Prince's words, a massive Magic Array engulfing the entire room suddenly lit up, and phantom dark red chains extended from the Array, instantly restraining Landon's body.
