The squad leader knew the opposing side was sending a warning, and he suddenly stood up, walked to the lookout tower, and stared through layers of darkness at the place across where the flames were burning.
With just one glance, the squad leader suddenly felt as though he had collided with a pair of terrifying eyes. He blinked and found nothing there.
Yet, it was indeed very frightening. It felt like a fierce tiger was lurking there, ready to pounce on someone, and he was its chosen target.
The squad leader shifted his gaze but couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. It clung to him, making him feel a tingling sensation all over his body.
The squad leader pinched his palm hard, feeling the pain revive his senses. He didn't dare to linger at the lookout tower any longer and quickly retreated indoors.
