An assassin in black lunged straight at them.
Su Ye shoved Su Qing into a corner, dodging the attack.
Su Qing lowered his head, not even glancing at the assassin. He swallowed, his voice low as he spoke.
"Benefactor, he's here to kill me."
Su Ye's eyes remained fixed on the man in black as she replied offhandedly.
"Mm."
Su Qing spoke again.
"Even if he dies, there will be countless more assassins to follow."
Su Ye hummed in response again.
"Mm."
Su Qing's long, dark eyelashes trembled for a moment.
"Wouldn't it be better for you to hand me over, Benefactor?"
The instant the words left his mouth,
a sharp SNAP echoed.
Su Ye's hand had already clamped down on the assassin's incoming longsword.
SNAP.
The longsword shattered.
Su Ye immediately drove the broken blade into her assailant's wrist, then raised her other hand and knocked him unconscious.
DRIP. DRIP.
Beads of blood trickled down her fingers and dripped onto the ground.
