She looked up at him.
"Where are we going?"
she asked, tugging on his sleeve.
Su Qing's deep eyes watched her quietly. After a long moment, he spoke.
"You trust me this much, benefactor?"
Su Ye nodded firmly.
"Of course."
She stood up and pulled Su Qing to his feet.
As she did, she caught the faint scent of blood.
Then, she couldn't help but look up at him.
"You're hurt?"
He replied nonchalantly,
"It's just a scratch."
With that, he took Su Ye's hand and led her down the dim path.
The path was rough and full of turns. At every corner, six different forks would appear.
As they walked, they would occasionally see the skulls of people who had died on the path.
They were likely people who had heard of the holy artifact's existence and came searching for it, only to die of exhaustion on this maze-like road.
Su Ye followed closely behind Su Qing. Whichever path he chose, she followed without the slightest objection, her trust unwavering.
