Ignoring his discolored, purplish hand, she pinned his wrist down.
Nan Hua watched Su Ye lean closer. His brow tightened, and he tried to pull his hand away.
Su Ye said impassively to Xue Rong,
"Consider those little pearls payment. Hold him down."
Xue Rong nodded quickly.
"O-Okay."
It was strange. Xue Rong inexplicably found herself helping Su Ye pin Nan Hua's arm. She didn't even know what Su Ye was about to do, yet it was as if she'd already joined her side.
Nan Hua looked up at Xue Rong, whose face was puffy from crying. His voice was hoarse and weak.
"Do you know her?"
Hearing this, Xue Rong subconsciously nodded.
"Mhm."
But then, as if remembering something, she quickly shook her head.
"No, I don't know her."
Nan Hua watched her flustered state. A faint smile touched his usually expressionless face, but it vanished in an instant.
His voice was raspy as he asked,
"You don't know her, yet you're helping her hold me down?"
