The RT unit was off into the battlefield along with the FX series. Phoenix contacted the FX series as soon as possible.
Phoenix : FX-01, this is High Command. We've sent an additional RT unit. It's a high priority command. Support the unit in battle. Additional orders will be given as per situation.
FX-01 : Noted. I'll relay this to others.
The RT unit was flying behind the other units. Their first priority was to stop the hulking monsters from stepping past their territory. With every step the titan took, it left giant footprints on the land it stomped on. As it moved forward, unfortunate animals and trees were crushed beneath its gigantic foot. There were small tremors felt around its feet with every step it took, and they were consistent enough that it felt like an earthquake was occurring.
FX-01 : Team, we have a guest with us. Our job is to support it. Don't let it fall. So FX-01 and FX-02 will be supporting the guest. The rest take on combat.
FX-01 : RT-07, this is FX-01. Do you copy?
Jay was getting the call from the FX mechas, and he picked up the call.
Jay : This is RT-07. Over.
FX-01 : What are your plans? We have orders to support you.
Jay : I am going to target the head region, where the highest probability of finding the rider is.
FX-01 : OK then, we'll make distractions while you make your move. I'll give you the signal, then ascend.
The FX units were giant, but they were simply overshadowed by the titan. If their sizes were to be compared, it would be like a human compared to a big dog—measured from its head to leg rather than tail.
And just as discussed before, the FX riders went ahead and started bombarding the titan with missiles and used their weapons to try to make a dent. They had ultra-heated swords which could even melt steel, and they inserted the sword inside its massive body. The insertion was successful, but moving the blade was rather demanding. This in turn activated the turrets on its body. From different parts of the body, turrets emerged and started firing shells at the FX mech. The mech rider anticipated this and pulled out, but due to the limitation, the mech wasn't fast enough to process it. As a result, it was hit in the leg, and the leg was destroyed before it could avoid it. From the shattered leg, coolant and battery acid leaked out, and the wiring had gotten very loose as a result of the impact. Thus many wires broke before being patched by the system. A small mana shield was generated by the system to prevent leakages temporarily.
FX-04 : I'm hit. I couldn't get away early. I can still resume combat operations.
FX-01 : Then destroy the turrets and resume cutting it down.
FX-04 : Understood. Deploying deflection disks.
The finger of the mech popped open, and small disks were scattered in the air, falling toward the ground. But when the turrets fired toward it, trying to target the mech descending quickly, they were instead deflected by the disks. They acted like special mirrors that took the maximum amount of light in and reflected everything else. The mech was able to escape the turrets' intense and focused fire. In return, the mech unleashed its missiles which emerged from its back and targeted the turrets. Twenty high-velocity missiles emerged, and they had one target: the fifteen turrets that were targeting FX-04. It was a clean hit. The explosion of the missiles also managed to penetrate inside the exposed opening of the turrets and slightly damaged its internal circuitry.
But there was still a turret remaining, and there was no way to dodge the incoming shot. Thus FX-05 destroyed it from off-site while covering FX-04.
FX-05 was piloted by a young woman who had been in love with mecha since her childhood. But her physique was quite weak. Thus she decided to improve her physique to compensate for strength. Luckily for her, she flowed like water, and because of the tech already available, it made it easier for her to do anything without even putting in a single percent of physical strength. Thus instead of a bulky physique, she held a lady-like physique while piloting the mech.
FX-05 : I've destroyed the turret. Over. Continue your task while I support you from the back.

Meanwhile, Jay was heading over the mech and finally reached its head with FX-01, 02, and 03 behind. To welcome them, there were missiles and turret fire waiting for their arrival. When the fire started, the shield that the RT unit had activated when it sensed danger kicked in.
AI : Shield depleting in one minute. Awaiting counterattack command.
Jay : Show them our might. Counter them with missiles.
AI : It will waste ammo and is an ineffective measure. Deploying controlled flares now.
The shin opened up to reveal flares which were shot high in the air, and they targeted the missiles themselves, causing them to explode in mid-air on contact. A few seconds after, another explosion occurred at the torso region by FX-04.
Jay was learning what the RT could do while flying. The RT unit also had a Learner unit installed, which was filling Jay's head with pre-established information about its general use and features. This information was imprinted in his brain.
Name : RT-07
Class : Attack focused
Sub-class : Weapon Mongeror (Have extra stock for all weapons)
Height : 100 feet
Weight : 7000.45 tons
Speed :
Ground speed : 40 kmph (base), 60 kmph (maximum power)
Flight speed : 189 kmph at maximum thrust
Weapons : High energy sword, DTV grade missiles, auto target flares, Mana rail gun (element convertible), Mana and Bullet minigun, Mana shield, AP missiles, HEZ missiles, EMP grenades, incendiary grenades, and HE grenades.
Max operational time : 2 hours
Additional features : Physical mana chargers, nuclear grade self-destruction, AI prediction (reduce latency), Might Beacon
Jay : I'M SITTING IN A NUCLEAR BOMB!!! Well, it can't hurt me anyway, but still sounds scary since I don't have anything to combat radiation. Rest of the features sound good too. This Learner is good—I don't know why they limit it.
Jay : I want to use AP shells. Aim them at the head.
AI : Understood. Launching AP shell at predicted weak spot.
The AI in the mech had already predicted which spot had the lowest probability of being easily piercible. To be honest, the prediction was not really useful since it was the eyes all along.
Jay : Fire AP shells.
AI : Firing AP shells from the wrist.
The AI by itself moved the frame in such a way that the mech, as well as Jay, were correctly positioned to launch an attack. The wrist opened to reveal a large shell with the tip specifically enhanced to enable piercing without blowing up first.
AI : Please watch the recoil.
Jay : The what?
As Jay finished his sentence, the AI launched both of the AP shells, and they aimed for the eyes. But unfortunately, they were vaporized as high-energy lasers were shot from its eyes and wiped out the AP shells.
Jay : What are you—Superman now?
AI : We are receiving a transmission now.
FX-03 : We have encircled the enemy skull and are preparing for a strike on the back of its head. Please keep it engaged.
Jay : Sure thing.
Jay : AI, do we have anything flashy? Activating Beacon to overload the eyes. Please move closer to the head.
As per the instruction, he moved toward the eye while avoiding the lasers, as its skull was very slow to move in any direction.
Finally, the RT unit was before its mouth. Jay asked the AI for the energy sword. A replica of the sword dropped down, but it was attached to another frame—which was great for Jay since he could fine-tune his sword strikes. The sword started heating up rapidly using electric current and finally reached the temperature where it was red hot and ready to be jammed. Jay grabbed hold of the sword and jammed it vertically between its mouth, where it melted its way through, but a lot of strength had to be applied. Then he moved the sword such that finally the entire neck was cut down, and the mech was headless. The head fell on the ground and implanted itself deep within the disputed territory soil, digging around ten meters deep as well as creating a tens-of-meters-wide hole.
But instead of falling down, it still stood. Jay had a moment of déjà vu, as if something was going to happen. And just as the moment ended, every turret which were formerly enclosed opened up and started targeting the capital and the camp itself. But Jay didn't know, as on the shoulders there was nothing but silence until FX-01 called in.
FX-01 : RT-07, the mech is not down yet. I REPEAT, THE MECH IS NOT DOWN. It is preparing for a final strike. STRIKE IT DOWN BEFORE THAT.
Jay didn't know what to do next, as he hadn't planned further, until he had his moment of brilliance from his own experiences after seeing the opening of the headless mech.
Jay : AI, I want to use the grenades.
From the back, a grenade launcher was dispensed and fell into the hands of the mech. In the cockpit, another frame-bound weapon replica was handed to Jay. So Jay walked over to the opening and filled its inside with mech-grade grenades, then flew off. After a few seconds, the entire mech exploded from the inside, with black fumes emitting from the mech and burning and melted debris being launched and falling from the mech. In the end, what remained of the mech were its legs. It was standing on its last legs before it was finally defeated, turning into scrap metal with no sight of the rider anywhere.
The fight was won, but the battle yet remained. And the RT unit was heading closer to its next victim.
