Whatever he had planned to say next quietly died on his tongue.
"Well… if you need anything," he continued instead, "please don't hesitate to tell me. It might be best for you to get some rest tonight. Tomorrow will be quite an important day for both you and Mr. Vincent."
He smiled once more and gave a slight bow. "Have a good rest."
With that, he turned and quietly withdrew from the room.
Madam Beckett's gaze followed Ryley until he disappeared behind the closed door.
Only then did she lift a hand slightly, gesturing toward a servant standing quietly at the side of the room.
The servant understood at once, nodding before slipping out without a word.
A short while later, the same servant returned, carrying a tray of steaming teacups, with Semaya walking just behind.
The tray was set carefully on the table before them, the porcelain cups arranged neatly as the tea was poured.
Once the servant stepped back, Semaya bowed respectfully.
"Madam, you called for me?"
