"Alright, forget it," he said, cutting the conversation short as he turned back to Jade. "If you're really here to pack Mr. Ryley's things, do it only after the investigation team clears everything."
As if nothing heavy had just been said, he gave Jade a light pat on the shoulder before walking off toward the guard.
Jade lowered his head in a small bow, though his eyes shifted away with clear irritation.
But the moment he caught sight of Vincent speaking quietly to the guard, something uneasy stirred inside him.
Suspicion rose before he could stop it.
