Cherreads

Chapter 97 - Save 52 — The Unconquerable Dungeon

A package from Rudel arrived at the academy in the Kingdom of Altfode.

The recipients were Alisa and Airi.

"... That Rudel, just when I was wondering why he hadn't contacted us for a while, he sends us a souvenir like this."

When they happily opened the box, they found things like tea leaves or products aimed at women. It was typical of Rudel to send them these kinds of things.

There were also letters inside. Airi was surprised when she read the letter that was for her.

"Alisa, it seems Rudel-san has gotten into trouble. He wrote that he wanted us to deliver his letters to His Majesty and the Queen!"

"What?"

Alisa also read the letter. There were some words about how much he loves the two of them before writing about there being a problem in the supreme kingdom.

To deal with the problem, the letter asked them to deliver some letters to Leonis and Lecia.

Bell floated in the room looking lonely. Alisa turned her gaze towards her.

"... There's no souvenir for me. Even though I've been working very hard for the master's sake."

"Bell, have you heard anything? Previously, Rudel contacted us by mail through you, why didn't he do it this time?"

"There's no news from Ixion, so I don't know either. Perhaps something happened?"

Alisa brought her hand to her mouth and thought.

"Something happened? What's the reason Rudel intentionally wrote two letters like this? I'm also curious about why he doesn't give us more explanations."

Airi took the letters inside the package with a worried look.

"Should we read them?"

"I want to, but Rudel intentionally prepared them separately. There must be a meaning to it. I'll send these letters immediately.

Bell was circling in the air.

"Hm~, I wonder what it is? We're talking about the master, so perhaps it doesn't have any deep meaning. Surely the master separated the letters into one that is full of complaints to the king, while the other is an obscene love letter to the queen where the master is trying to act calmly."

The expression disappeared from Airi's face as she looked at the two letters.

"That would be a little problematic if that's the case."

Alisa burst out laughing.

"I would praise him if he has the guts to write a love letter to the queen while already having two fiancées. Moreover, he's asking me to deliver that letter... that's very promising."

She was laughing, but she was making a grimace that showed she absolutely was not amused inside.

Bell tried to defend Rudel a little.

"It's impossible for that indecisive master to do such a thing. In any case, perhaps I should also make some preparations in case something happens there."

"What do you mean by preparations?"

Airi asked. Bell responded to her happily.

"Do you want to know? Then I'll tell you. Actually, there are these spare parts for Schwert to send to the master. They can be used to create a second ship. The second ship of the Schwert class... let's see, should I name it Avrora? Also, there's actually this interesting device among the things we collected. I also want to install it on the aircraft."

"R-Really?"

Airi couldn't understand what Bell was talking about so happily. After Bell finished speaking, Airi handed the two letters to Alisa.

"Let's send them quickly. I hope nothing bad happens to Rudel-san."

The girls and Bell left the room.

I think the package I sent to the kingdom should have arrived by now.

As for me, I was taking days off from the academy for the promised day.

I had no interest in going there just to be bullied. The academy also didn't tell me anything.

I went to visit Warren yesterday who had already regained consciousness. He was now resting in the hospital under Clovis's care.

I brought him some food and a change of clothes that Erselica must have had to do.

Warren told me that when the sacred tree oath roots were about to attack him, he couldn't use magic. Rather, it seemed his magic was being sucked out somehow.

That explains why I couldn't do it either, although in fact my magical power is small so it doesn't matter if I use it or not.

"What should I prepare for breakfast?"

Since I had already finished the training exercises outside the house, I went inside to prepare my breakfast.

When I entered, I found a sight that used to be strange to me but now wasn't.

"Good morning. You were outside for a long time today."

"Good morning. Yes. I'm preparing."

Lucy had been living with me for a while.

At first she was on guard, but now she seems more relaxed. She discovered I'm harmless towards women, which is good from her point of view.

She has been helping me tidy up the house. We also went to buy a bed for Lucy-chan; it seems leaving an animal without a home is something prohibited in this country.

"Since you were training, you surely haven't had breakfast. So I prepared breakfast."

"Is that so? You shouldn't have bothered with that. As long as you had prepared yours, that would have been enough."

I sat at the table still sweating. She also sat down; it seems she hasn't had breakfast waiting for me.

"No. I'm a guest; I can't do it before the owner. Besides, it's more fun to eat accompanied."

She smiled at me with her usual smile.

"Undoubtedly. A radiant smile is a bright light as the name Lucy indicates."

Without realizing it, I let out words I shouldn't have said. Words that brought me happiness and at the same time problems.

I looked at Lucy, who was cutting her scrambled eggs while humming.

Good thing she didn't hear it, now to eat.

◇◇◇

Lucy was trembling while humming.

She had heard something strange...

(Huh! What was that supposed to be?)

◇◇◇

After having breakfast and changing, I headed to Erselica's mansion.

Upon entering, I found the lady of the house with a face that indicated she hadn't slept in a long time.

"What's with that face?"

She approached me staggering.

"I-I did everything I could to try to get the diplomats to help me, but nothing happened... so I wrote everything I remember in this notebook. There are things... that I think will help you. So... are you not angry anymore?"

I looked at her very strangely and showed her my best smile.

"What are you talking about? I'm happy, in fact."

She got scared and stepped back for some reason.

I took a glance at the notebook.

There was a lot of information here compared to what she told me before arriving in Aster. It seemed she tried her best to appeal that she was doing the best she could.

For example, there was information about the sacred tree oath.

By making an oath to the sacred tree, one could draw more power than usual from the sacred tree.

The practical application of that was for something like the irrational duel that Derrick forced upon Liam and the others.

And then the notebook also mentioned the emblems the sacred tree granted.

The guardian's emblem was the strongest, followed by the priestess's. Then below them was the emblem of the six great nobles.

The note continued mentioning other emblems below that. The status of these emblems also influenced the position of the nobles who had them.

They were nobles because the sacred tree recognized them; it was really easy to understand.

"There's interesting information here."

There was also information that could be used to get revenge on Derrick.

"B-Brother, what are you going to do now?"

Erselica asked me anxiously, so I responded with a smile.

"What am I going to do? That's obvious. I'll make Derrick pay. I'll also have to teach Aster its place while I'm at it. I'll firmly tell them not to remain arrogant."

I couldn't just run home like that.

After all, the danger to the world was still as before.

But, even though I was trying to reassure her, Erselica was starting to tremble fiercely.

Tears gathered in her eyes, and she repeated, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

"... Why are you reacting like this?"

Liam saw Erselica trembling in front of me and ran towards us.

"Erselica, are you alright?"

"So you appeared, stupid prince."

After saying that with a tired expression, Liam pushed Erselica behind him.

"Bradford, certainly this situation is also my responsibility. But, stop cornering Erselica like this! If you have something to say, tell me!"

What a manly prince.

If I were a girl, then surely my heart would flutter... no, I guess it wouldn't.

"I see. Then I'll ask you to work."

"W-What?"

Then it was Frey who appeared.

"Your Highness! Erselica too, the two of you are safe!"

"Good, you too, green head."

"Huh?"

After that, Chlust, who wasn't wearing anything above his waist, looked curiously into the hallway after hearing the commotion.

He was sweating. Perhaps he had just finished some training.

"What's going on?"

I looked at Chlust since we need brute strength.

"Good, I'll take you too, red ape. Lolica, I'll borrow your boyfriends."

"Eh, Lolica!?"

After I said that, the three said angrily, "What are you talking about!?" but Erselica nodded. It seemed she didn't mind if that was all I asked for.

"I don't mind, but, what are you going to do?"

"E-Erselica!?"

I ignored the surprised trio and tapped the notebook rolled on my shoulder.

"I'm going to attack Aster's unconquerable dungeon. It will be a treasure hunt."

Erselica's eyes lit up when I said that.

"Treasure!"

Liam and the others also had the same reaction.

Even though they are rotten inside, they are still descendants of adventurers.

Their mood lifted when they heard the word treasure, and they seemed excited.

"I don't know what you're planning, Bradford, but count me in. Besides, there's no way I can stay silent after hearing the word treasure."

"Your Highness, let's prepare quickly."

Frey also looked really motivated, unlike before.

Even Chlust seemed like a child before going on a field trip.

"I'll prepare the spear I've been secretly keeping. Bradford, when are we leaving?"

These guys look excited. I envy them.

"Wait a moment. I'll make the preparations at the academy. I also want to secure permission to enter."

Erselica tilted her head and asked me.

"Permission?"

"You can't enter normally because of its location. So I have to ask someone for a little help to achieve it. Also, I have certain items I want to test."

◇◇◇

Erselica had gone to the hospital to visit Warren and give clothes and food to Clovis.

Clovis thanked her for it.

"How is he doing?" Erselica asked curiously after sitting down. Clovis scratched his head.

"Very well, thank you. He has already woken up, but he's still tired since he was hit so hard and also couldn't use magical power."

Erselica felt sad about Warren. She was going to let things continue normally until the event where someone defeated Derrick.

"Sorry," she said. Clovis didn't understand her.

"Rather, I should be the one saying that."

"Eh?" Erselica didn't understand what Clovis said, but his face was one of sadness.

"It was my fault. Not only this, but also last year's incident. If... if only I hadn't wanted to run away and leave the archduke's daughter, my household wouldn't have been fined. My father was a rat, but I'm worse since I even yelled 'traitor' at the hero of the country."

Tears touched Clovis's cheeks.

"I have done nothing but cause problems around me. Warren is almost like a brother to me since we grew up together, and I wasn't there for him. Then the problem with Bradford happened. Although it wasn't my fault, I know he somehow ended up involved because of Warren's condition. According to His Highness, that guy is a meddler in matters that don't concern him."

Erselica wanted to say that wasn't true. But she remembered she was saved by him.

"I think it would be better if I return to the kingdom after Warren recovers. After all, I'm good for nothing. I'm just a noble in appearance."

"Don't say that!"

Erselica stood up and looked intently at Clovis.

"Even if things go wrong or, you had no other choice but to ruin them! Is that wrong? I mean, mistakes towards people we thought were our enemies are nothing more than our own foolishness. That boy also made mistakes. You too. Even I, so don't say that, before you realize you're good for nothing. You will have fallen into an abyss from which no one can pull you out."

Erselica remembered the day she got lost in an amusement park. She had gone out with Rudel that day. She cried because he didn't want to buy her ice cream. She got angry and ran away. She thought her brother had abandoned her.

Rudel found her with an ice cream in his hand. She cried and told him it didn't matter.

They had a problem with some boys who looked at Erselica with ill intentions, but nothing more happened.

"So, Clovis, don't say you're useless. I'm sure you'll be of great help both to Warren and to him."

Erselica gave him a charming smile that made Clovis blush.

Warren had been awake for a while and observed everything. He also blushed since he thought a bit like Clovis that what happened was his fault.

In the end, Erselica stayed all day chatting with them.

When I arrived at the academy after not coming for several days, the students and even the teachers seemed surprised before they averted their gaze from me.

I understood well that the six great nobles had great influence at the academy.

That's why I was walking right in the middle of the corridor.

Everyone in my path stepped aside and opened the way. It made me feel a little sad.

My goal in coming to the academy was to make a request to Sara-chan.

"Rudel-kun!?"

I waved my hand towards the surprised Sara, who found me by chance with her friends.

"Long time no see. It was a disaster~, my aircraft was taken by Derrick."

After saying that casually without much seriousness in my tone, Sara's gaze turned sharp.

"... Come here."

She grabbed my arm and took me to an empty classroom.

"What happened? I wanted to ask about the story in detail, but none of you came to the academy. Also, even Lucy stopped coming. Are these two things related?"

Sara asked me for an explanation, so I explained simply.

"That scum Derrick stole my aircraft using that sacred tree oath thing. As for Lucy, apparently Jude came to her bringing a collar and babbled about love or whatever, so she took refuge in my house."

Sara seemed somewhat relieved knowing Lucy was safe.

"Wait. You're living together with an unmarried girl?"

She got excited about the most obvious question in the world.

"Don't worry. I'm not scum who lays his hands on a defenseless girl."

"I see... then, I'll talk to my father. Leave Lucy and Jude's matters to me."

This villainess was more caring than I thought.

Leaving that aside.

"Please don't. As things stand, we'll continue to be underestimated. Even though I look like this, I'm the hero of the kingdom, while Warren, who was injured, is the former heir of a prestigious noble household in the kingdom. There's also the former crown prince among the people who were marked with the emblem on their neck by that scum Derrick."

I remembered Liam's swollen face and Erselica's frightened look from that day. I won't forgive that scum.

Sara's expression hardened slightly.

"... I understand your feelings. But Derrick is also one of the six great nobles. He's not an opponent you can win against."

I listed many reasons, but to be honest, none of them were my true reason.

"Let me rephrase it. I can't forgive that bastard for picking a fight with me. That's why I'll make him go through something horrible. To do that, can you help me a little?"

I tried to ask since I had nothing to lose, but Sara gave me a cold look.

"You want me to help you get killed. Is that what you're asking me?"

"I'm used to fighting even though I look like this."

"Even if that's so. Asking me to be an accomplice to your murder is something..."

I cut her off with the following words that I thought I would never say.

"I need your help, Sara-chan. Please, only you can help me."

At that moment, Sara froze. She seemed to give a slight jump as she grabbed her shoulders and looked at me with her eyes wide open.

Unexpectedly, she agreed after worrying for a moment.

"That's playing dirty."

"I'll do it as many times as you want. Even call you onee-chan."

I'm the kind of man who would humiliate himself to save his life. Saying a few strange words doesn't make me feel shame.

"However, I wish you wouldn't do anything dangerous."

"Good. Then, what do you want me to help you with?"

I told Sara what I needed, and she seemed really surprised when she heard my second request.

◇◇◇

The location was the academy courtyard.

There were many lovers who spent their lunch hour there.

Diana was having lunch with her boyfriend Lugh, but by her expression, she seemed distracted.

The reason was her older sister.

(Where could she have gone.)

She was worried about Lucy, who hadn't returned. She was also annoyed at the same time.

(Even though she just needs to go out with Jude immediately, why is she hesitating?)

Lugh was worried seeing Diana's distracted look and spoke to her.

"Ana-chan, has Lucy still not returned home yet?"

Diana smiled towards the kind Lugh.

"Y-Yes. Although I think she's fine. But I wish she would at least tell me where she's staying."

Then Lugh made a worried grimace.

"There are many problems recently after all. I want to believe that even Derrick won't do anything horrible to Lucy in consideration of Jude."

"You're right. This is because my sister is stubborn. Even though all the problems would disappear if she just goes out with Jude."

Diana was trying to get her older sister, Lucy, to go out with Jude.

For that to happen, she did various things like giving advice to Jude. Emotionally, she was Jude's ally.

"But, recently, Jude looks a bit strange. It feels as if he has this terrifying aura around him."

Lugh felt danger from Jude, but Diana didn't agree with him.

"Really? I think he's impatient because things aren't going well with my sister, but he's not that scary. Although it's a problem that his desire to monopolize is a bit strong."

Lugh made a conflicted grimace at Diana's words.

"It would be great if it really was just a bit... Huh?"

Lugh averted his gaze from Diana towards Rudel, who was pulling Sara's arm in the distance.

"It's unusual to see the foreign student come to school. Where does he plan to take Sara?"

Lugh was perplexed. In contrast, Diana's eyes opened, and she looked at Rudel fixedly.

She dropped the bread that was her lunch but didn't even notice it.

(That guy, who does he think he is!)

◇◇◇

There is a deep cave below the territory of the extinct Vermilion Household. It was called the unconquerable dungeon of Aster.

According to the game, each dungeon has a difficulty level from 1 to 6.

Being 1 the lowest and 6 the most dangerous. There was also a level 0, but that was for places without danger.

What differentiated Aster's dungeon from the others was that inside lay a dungeon boss. Something that normally wasn't there.

Dungeons have floors where you defeat monsters and open the door to go to the treasure.

But the developers thought it would be more exciting to do something unthinkable.

A dungeon boss that guards the entire area, making it an unimaginable level. The fearsome level 7. A level that required buying online items to complete it.

A group of adventurers and knights from the six great nobles were coming out of the cave tired and injured.

They sat down to drink water and kiss the ground. One of them raised his head to see something approaching from the distance.

It was a military-type all-terrain vehicle. Painted pure gold, its two tires on each side were so large that not even using strengthening magic could you lift it alone.

The vehicle measured 4 meters long and 3 high, and it also had a large horn on the front.

It was approaching at high speed, and the knight who seemed to be the expedition leader stopped the vehicle.

He had never seen this vehicle, but if it was here, it was because it was from his country, manufactured by some noble household in secret.

He approached the window.

"I'm very sorry, I need to see your papers if you want to enter."

The window rolled down, and a hand handed him a letter. He read it and was astonished.

"The Rosenberg Household allowed access to some foreigners! I can't believe it."

The knight kept reading the letter. His sweat was noticeable. But after a while, he handed the letter back to the driver. He had great curiosity on his face.

"Where are you from?"

The driver smiled, and his occupants approached him to shout.

"Adventurers from Altfode!"

Four people were inside. The knight was very surprised.

Frey and Chlust were in the back with a bag of weapons.

Liam was in the passenger seat looking at everything with a childlike astonished face.

While Rudel was driving a vehicle he had never ridden before. The mechanism was the same as the cars from his past life. In fact, he got a driver's license but never used it.

The vehicle used magic stones as fuel; it was a creation of Ixion some time ago. Upon arriving at the port months ago, Rudel left it in a warehouse at the port that belonged to the embassy.

He left it there since he thought he would use it for certain items at some point. He never expected to use it this way.

Rudel stepped on the pedal, and the vehicle, which roared like an animal, started at high speed for its large size.

After entering the dark and humid cave, he turned on the front lights and shouted.

"Aster, I present to you the four-wheeled beast. Rhino Magnus!"

And thus, the adventurers from Altfode ventured into the unconquerable dungeon.

At the same time, this formation was something seen in the game; the only strange thing was that one person shouldn't be in that group.

Could it be possible that the strongest combo from the most unexpected has been born?

"Uwooo, run!"

I was shouting at the guys since we were being chased by nothing less than.

"Giant ants! Enormous and ugly man-eating ants! Ahhh!"

I shouted while running to the vehicle to start it.

"Frey, keep shooting at them!"

Frey in the rear was firing magic bullets.

We had to rescue Liam, who was kidnapped by them.

"Get in quickly!"

Everyone got in; we threw a few grenades, and the ants flew into pieces while I drove anywhere away from here.

"W-We're saved... hah, hah, I don't want to touch those things again!"

After venturing into the cave, we got out to inspect, when some giant bats appeared and took Frey.

"Bradford, they kidnapped Frey!"

After rescuing him and before he became their food, we encountered giant chimpanzees; I think they were baboons since they showed us their behinds. They kidnapped Chlust to make him marry the chief's daughter of their tribe.

"Uwooh, they took Chlust!"

After blowing the place to pieces, we rested, but the calm didn't last long because some disgusting earthworms devoured me.

"Bradford, hold on!"

After saving me, we ventured further, searching for a certain location marked on my GPS with the help of the map Sara provided me.

A while ago, after waking up, we noticed some ants had taken Liam.

That's how we ended up here.

Now that we've moved away from there, we rested near the place we needed to reach.

"Damn it, we've been here for four days already. If it weren't for the vehicle, we would have taken longer or died trying."

This place is no joke. I already understand why they call it that.

Turns out most of the monsters that live here feed on the sacred tree's roots. Resulting in the ability to use magical attacks and grow so much in strength, speed, and height.

"We've used almost all the ammunition and weapons. And, we lost a few after rescuing His Highness."

Frey had checked the suitcases that had our weapons. We only have a rifle, a spear, and two swords left.

"This sucks. It's impossible to defeat that boss without more weaponry."

It was Chlust who was in a bad mood. He's right, worst of all.

"We can't defeat a monster that guards such an important zone. We must return to the mansion and restock on weapons."

Everyone looked at me with pitiful faces; they didn't like the idea, but there's no way to win like this.

We stood up after resting and were going to return home briefly for a moment.

Undoubtedly, this place is the strongest dungeon in the world.

"Goaz!"

Suddenly, we heard a strange cry.

The ground trembled; something seemed to be approaching.

Large footsteps were heard in the distance.

"I don't know what it is, but get in quickly!"

Everyone got into the vehicle to get away.

Just when I was about to turn around, an earthworm came out of the floor.

"Uwahh!"

We all screamed at that horrendous thing that could swallow us in one bite.

But at that moment, I looked ahead and found something running towards us.

The strange creature jumped since it attacked the worm, which fell and crawled, hitting everything with its tail.

"We can't back up; we must go forward; there's not enough space!"

I hate to say it, but Frey is right; I can't turn around, so I just have to accelerate.

I stepped on the pedal to the floor while watching through the driver's side mirror as a large amount of red liquid came out of the worm.

I got scared thinking that thing was the dungeon boss. That worm is as large and long as a commercial plane.

After no longer hearing any noise, I thought calm was present.

"Goaz!"

But I was wrong. That thing was chasing us at high speed. And without me noticing, we arrived at the destined place.

It was a large sealed cave covered with giant roots.

We arrived at our destination by chance, but ours wasn't as fortunate.

This thing hit us and made the vehicle flip over, ending up normal and without a scratch.

Ixion really outdid himself with the resistance; in contrast, we were bruised in different places from the impact.

There was a large cloud of smoke.

We got out and after waiting for our heads to stop spinning, we heard that sound again.

"Goaz!"

"Guys, get ready, here it comes!"

Liam and Chlust were still confused, but Frey was already ready.

I gave Liam a sword, knowing his skills. Chlust took the spear, and Frey the rifle. I took what was left; my style is more about hiding, but there's no way I can do that now.

A massive body of 3 meters in height was approaching.

Its footsteps echoed. Its body was as robust as it was hairy from what I could see.

It had armor parts in different zones. Its legs were those of a gazelle, and its feet were antelope hooves.

I imagine the ridiculous speed is due to that. Seeing its body hair, I suppose it's a chimera.

Its chest was broad and strong like that of a gorilla; its arms were too, but with scales.

In its right hand, I could observe a strange sword made of rocks molded with steel like shark teeth on the edge.

This thing was known as the Jaggerjack. Since the founding of the Vermilion hold, it has always caused problems according to Erselica's notes.

This thing that has horns was a minotaur. It was missing the left horn, implying someone managed to cut it off.

Finally, I can see its face since the dust cloud disappeared, and it's...

"Goaz."

"What the hell is that thing!"

"I don't understand you! How can this thing be considered a minotaur!"

Its ears are those of a horse; its eyes were those of a toad. Its skin was brown with dark spots, and its horns were red.

But I don't accept it; I won't accept that its mouth and nose are those of a dog, which also smiles like a horse.

"I refuse to accept that something as funny-looking as you are considered a dungeon boss!"

"Goaz!"

The strange mutant thing seems to have gotten angry with me.

It moved forward so fast I didn't see it coming.

Without even a pause, it kicked me.

"Bradford!"

I heard Liam's voice calling me after I went flying while spinning.

I could observe how that strange thing jumped and grabbed me. The damn bastard did something I didn't expect.

An alley-oop tackle, which shouldn't be possible since this isn't a sports game for him to know how to do it.

He stepped on the stone ceiling and at high speed slammed me against the ground.

Everyone screamed my name.

He lifted me up, and I could observe he was happy. Then he decided to treat me like his toy.

He slammed me against the surrounding ground and threw me against a pillar, which destroyed.

I imagine he must think I'm dead from his ridiculous laugh.

Unfortunately, this thing doesn't know I'm wearing a special anti-damage suit, which comes with an invisible protective shield.

Certainly, I received a lot of damage, and the shield energy dropped a lot.

But it doesn't matter.

I got up, and everyone was astonished to see me.

I brushed off the dust covering my body and pointed at him.

"Hey, son of a bitch. I recognize your strong despite how you look. But do you know something? I'm a sore loser."

I drew my sword from its sheath.

"Guys, attack!"

I let out a war cry, and the three main characters reacted in unison moving in sync.

That's because they had already been through this together.

Frey stayed behind while reloading magic bullets.

Liam and Chlust approached to hit him.

"Hyah!"

"Take this!"

Chlust swung his spear repeatedly to try to pierce the creature's skin, but it was very resistant, apparently.

Liam, in contrast, circled it and tried to cut its tendons and joints. But it was useless.

The guys moved away; the ugly beast didn't seem to care; it was playing with us. It must think we're easy prey.

"Ready!"

Frey shouted while aiming his rifle at the creature.

"You won't escape this without damage. Energy ray!"

Various magic circles with seven points inside appeared in the air. They all aligned at the rifle's muzzle.

The magic circle grew, and Frey pulled the trigger.

Instead of being a bullet, it was more like a laser beam that hit the creature's chest, sending it a few meters back.

"Good, with this..."

Frey's words were cut off because he saw the bastard stand up calmly.

He was wiping the damaged area left burned on his hairy chest.

He laughed at us; that horse laugh is the worst.

"Goazzz! Goazz! Goooaz!"

He mocked us to our faces.

Undoubtedly, he is a dungeon boss.

But I was the one who would laugh more.

"Guys, I need your cooperation; come quickly!"

Everyone gathered; the bastard saw us grouping, but he didn't care; that showed how confident he was about his power.

I told the guys what we had to do.

They were astonished.

"Bradford, will it really work?"

Liam asked, and I responded both to him and the others. "Even if you don't want to believe in me, much less trust. Believe in the power of my plans."

"That doesn't make sense."

"Nobody cares if it does; just do as I say, and we'll defeat this thing."

That's right, there's no time to waste. We have no food or water left, much less more weapons. If we don't defeat it here and now, we'll be so tired we won't be able to escape.

Everyone looked at me and then nodded.

"Good. We'll trust you."

I smiled since victory was already ours.

"That's what I like to hear. Now, attack!"

We left the meeting circle and got into attack position.

Frey reloaded magic bullets to create a new bullet.

Chlust was in front of him, while I and Liam were in the front.

"I never thought I'd fight side by side with you," he said.

"Me neither. But there's a first time for everything," I laughed while responding.

"Let's go!"

"Yes!"

The two of us ran forward while I heard Chlust preparing.

"Strengthening Magic: One gorilla... two gorillas..."

Liam ran at full speed.

"Physical Reinforcement Magic: Hermes's speed."

His body moved like a strong blizzard.

His sword impacted against the creature's head.

I approached from behind and climbed onto its back.

Both of us cut the chest and back of that thing, but it was useless. It laughed since we seemed to be giving it a massage.

"Now!"

I shouted so Liam could cover his sword with magical power.

I did the same; both of us were under Derrick's curse, but these were swords created by Ixion. They can suck magical power from the air as if it were a vacuum.

Surely, it thought we were playing, but we were only buying time for this.

"Eat this!"

Our swords pierced the monster's thick and hard skin.

"Goazz!"

It screamed in pain as the sword edges touched its organs, and red liquid poured out in heaps.

We jumped from its body to the floor. Then, we began the attack.

"Don't give it a chance!"

Liam and I, with swords brimming with magical power, cut here and there. Its back, legs, arms, and chest while we covered ourselves.

"Gooaz!"

The creature raised its sword and struck the ground, also the surroundings where there were pillars.

It sent them flying towards us, some with rocky edges included.

Liam dodged them with his agility, but I didn't have that luck. I let them hit me since I couldn't make those impossible movements for someone who isn't the protagonist.

After a brief moment of randomly throwing blows and the occasional one that hit me.

Frey was ready.

"Bradford! Your Highness! Here it comes!"

Once again, he aimed his rifle at the creature.

It covered itself with its sword. That was its mistake.

While I was in the air, I noticed its cut horn wasn't the work of a weapon but of magical power.

Someone had used a fireball and melted it.

I imagine that because of its surprising speed, it was impossible to damage it.

But we are different. They have me, a cheater.

"This is for Erselica!"

A large magic circle of eight points appeared in the air. Each point glowed and became smaller.

The creature thought it was something big or something insignificant; I don't know the truth. I only know it hurried to hit Frey.

"Too slow~," I told it in a mocking tone.

It turned to look at me; it seemed to understand human language very well.

Frey finished charging the weapon.

"Ice Age Shot!"

A bright blue bullet was fired from his rifle.

The creature used its weapon to cover itself, which was its worst mistake. Since, upon impact with the exterior, everything froze.

It managed to step back, but it was useless. Its weapon and its right arm were instantly frozen.

"I present to you liquid hydrogen."

The creature screamed because its entire arm was now just dead meat.

It looked at me with furious eyes and approached to hit me.

"Phase one completed; it's your turn, Chlust."

"... Good."

Chlust, who hadn't moved from his position, was very tense. His muscles had torn his clothes, and his pectorals, biceps, and triceps looked like large tumors.

The creature wildly swung its frozen arm and sword to escape; it saw Chlust and wanted to hit him.

But at that moment, he.

"Eat this, oryahhh!"

The strength of his muscles and the tip of his spear covered with magical power served to deliver the finishing blow.

The spear of red light destroyed the weapon made of ice and pierced the creature's neck.

"Goaaaz!"

Its pain was evident since Chlust, with a single movement, pierced its jugular, and it couldn't breathe.

Its right arm was destroyed entirely, and its throat pierced.

It tried to flee desperately, but we won't give it the chance.

"Prince."

"You don't need to tell me."

Liam and I finished covering the swords and headed to deliver the final blow.

It turned around to try to beg for mercy.

Unfortunately, we didn't give it. Since, in an X shape, we made a cut to separate its head from its body.

"Double Lariat."

We both shouted while watching as a large amount of red liquid poured out in heaps.

It was only seconds, and the monster's body turned to ashes, dropping a large yellow cube.

We all looked at that happily.

The sun rays entering through some holes illuminated the promised area.

Before opening said place, we decided to shout something to celebrate.

"We just conquered the strongest dungeon in the world!"

Even though it's not to my liking to do it, this kind of celebration isn't bad.
