Chapter 106 - Interlude — Bell-chan Will Do Her Best!

In the Kingdom of Altfode, many foreign officials, diplomats, and wealthy merchants were in the capital doing various things. One of them, his name was Laurt; he was an important diplomat who had come to settle in his country's embassy in the kingdom.

He was in an elegant carriage with his country's emblem on the doors. His appearance was that of a short, chubby man with almost no hair on his head.

He wore large glasses for a big nose. He was looking at the streets searching for something to eat.

"No, that one won't do."

By eat, he obviously meant putting his hands on some poor girl. In his country, this was normal, so he thought if someone said something, he could fix it economically.

His eyes searched for a perfect prey.

"That one is too small."

"She's too plain."

"Bah, that one is definitely useless."

He was rejecting all the girls until he found his best prey.

"Oh, that's the one!"

Which at the same time was his worst option.

"Short hair, blonde, I can see from my position that she possesses a large rear with splendid and plump thighs. I want her!"

That girl was Airi.

She was conversing with a man—one could say that since he wore a wig and a long dress.

"I never expected to find you in the capital, Erik-sensei."

"Heavens~, Irisdina-chan, you've grown so much since the last time we saw each other. And it's Madame Julia now."

Airi felt strange since a man called himself a madame; that same "man" was the one who taught her to read and write a long time ago.

"I-I see. What are you buying?"

"Well, I have a cousin in Aster, and she wants me to send her some personal things she left here a while ago."

"I understand, they must be very important."

"Certainly, since unlike me, who has a shop specialized in stray lambs, she owns a bar for men who want to escape their reality."

Airi didn't understand anything he was telling her, but she smiled and nodded kindly at what he said.

"I'd like to chat more, but I must go buy some things for the academy. See you."

With her usual charming smile, she left there, heading to a shop to buy things.

Laurt watched her with ill intentions.

"I want her, I must have her! No matter who she is!"

◇◇◇

It was night in the female students' dormitory of the academy.

There were three men on the roof.

"How is it?"

"Asleep."

"It seems we can do it without problems."

"Bad boys found~."

The men were having that conversation. When suddenly, they heard a strange voice.

From the neighboring roofs, they could see how strange black mechanical spiders with red eyes were coming toward them.

The men drew their weapons in fear of those strange objects.

"W—What the hell are those things!?"

The mechanical spiders approached at high speed. The hooded men pulled out their guns to use them, but some of those spiders launched a mucous web to prevent them from using them.

The men ran terrified across the roof. One of them fell to the ground, breaking a leg, and the others were caught by the spiders.

The spiders that hadn't caught the other men approached to corner the injured one.

Before he could scream for help, he was caught by them and watched as from the sky a white sphere with one bright green eye fell slowly.

The man observed that strange sphere that spoke to him.

"Umm, your lord is an idiot, isn't he?"

"Look how he wanted to put his hands on the sweet and innocent Airi-chan. I regret to say she already has a wonderful man who is my Master."

That sphere was Bell, who for some reason was sighing, despite not having a mouth.

"Why do idiot men want a woman who already has a partner? You and the other bad boys at the academy really need some painful discipline. Don't worry, I won't kill you, but I'll have a lot of fun with you, fufufu."

Bell's green eye shone brightly and very ominously.

◇◇◇

"GYAAAAA!!"

Laurt had been waiting all night for his gift in his sleeping gown. In the end, it never arrived, and he fell asleep in his mansion waiting.

When he woke up, he went to take a bath, and there he found a monstrosity.

They were the men sent yesterday. They were naked, tied up, and had a large umbrella embedded in their backsides with the message written: "If you don't leave this instant, you'll end up worse. With love, Bell-chan."

(When? When did they enter my room?)

Laurt was very afraid since an intruder had entered his well-protected mansion.

They had also given him a terrifying gift.

All that was left for him was to flee since they threatened that next time it would be him who ended up like that or worse.

He grabbed his suitcases and returned to his country that same day.

◇◇◇

Bell was spying on the man who fled like a coward for his life.

He was laughing.

"Without a doubt, being the guardian of the girls is very entertaining. I'll make the Master praise me for it when he finds out."

Airi entered the room where Bell was waiting for her; they were supposed to meet with Alisa today to talk about Rudel, who hasn't sent them letters lately.

But besides that, Airi was sad. Bell, noticing her, asked the reason.

"What's wrong with you?"

"Well, I'm sad because another new student is leaving the academy."

"Why does that affect you?"

Airi looked at him very sadly.

"I think it's my fault, maybe... am I a terrible guide?"

"Nonsense. The Master and Alisa know you are very competent. Even more than the Master."

"I don't think that's the case. I say it because all those who leave the academy... well, how to put it."

Airi didn't know how to say it since it was very strange for her even that.

"The thing is... the students who leave the academy are girls. But the number of girls is extremely low, so I don't understand where so many are coming from."

Airi didn't understand how so many girls were leaving the academy when their number was low.

"On the other hand, the number of male students has decreased a little. Not long ago, a student from the male dormitory said he needed to speak with me in private, and at the time of the meeting, I never found him. Not even in classes, much less in his room."

The male students' rooms were empty, but there was no trace of them leaving the premises.

Bell wanted to tell Airi a certain thing, but he preferred to keep it to himself since precisely at this moment. He was observing how a student from the boys' dormitory left a room wearing a dress.

The boys' dormitory had been in panic because of this strange wave of terrifying events. They knew the truth halfway. That's why they didn't speak, thinking that perhaps a strange ghost roaming around doing unreal things would catch them.

And so, the first horror story at the academy was born.
