Chapter 13 - Skilled

They walked the dirt road like a parade with Ken in the middle.

The dozens elf were scared of him.

That said, he didn't mean to intimidate them, he was just irritated by that cocky attitude and taught him a lesson.

The group went through a forest and arrived at a mountain range.

The whole mountain was covered by a translucent blue barrier.

The leader pulled out a badge and a small portion of that barrier opened. They then entered it.

"Alright, where's your boss? I wanna speak with him"

"..."

"Hey? I'm talking to yo-", as Ken turned around, he realized that he was alone and the barrier just closed again.

"HOW DARE YOU", he hollered.

He then rushed to the barrier and punched it with his power.

*Booom*

The bang was loud, but the barrier was as steady as ever.

And just then a large group came out of the forest.

"Hahahahhah, look at this guy, getting trapped this easily"

"Yoo this is too funny, he was bragging about chasing a flame dwarf city? Hahhha, man I can't stop laughing"

"Hey kid, don't worry, your life would be useful just shortly after this"

The elves were mocking him from outside the barrier.

Many elves came from within the forest. Some that came with him and others he didn't know.

Ken composed himself and said, "are you sure you wanna do this?"

"Do what? This is the law of the jungle, do we even need permission to catch someone?", one of the elves answered as he controlled the barrier.

The barrier shrank and in no time, it was just enough to fit 2 people.

"Then I will ask my last question, how do you know they brought me and prepared all that?"

"Oh? Are you sure that are your last words? Hahaha, fine I will tell you because I'm benevolent.

"The secret is... Telepathy!"

Just as he finished that last word, the barrier shattered. The elf that was just speaking was left with only his lower half.

The other elves who were still in a cheery mood, didn't even have the time to react when suddenly a suction force appeared and sucked them into the middle, their body gradually turned into atoms right before they reached the middle of the suction force, with only bones that went through

The ones that still held their ground were terrified by this and struggled to get away, but the suction force only grew stronger that even the surrounding terrain was also sucked.

Cries and screams rang there for a bit and then everything went quiet.

None are left, there was just a crater.

Ken walked up to the edge of the crater and observed it.

"Not bad"

At first, he thought the barrier was weak, so he tried to punch it with his metalized hand. But then realized it's actually strong, but at the same time not strong. It's basically a physical nullifier. But against element? It's weak. This was proven after he controlled a small amount of melting hot air to the other side of the barrier and it actually cracked.

Then when the barrier shrank, he wanted to know how he was fooled and he got the answer. Well, it's not guaranteed to be true but he had no patience and so released a focused heat ray into that elf that instantly melted his upper half.

Then he instantly created a vacuum space by removing all the air in a large area and raising the surrounding air by thousands of degrees.

He knew how it works but actually, he didn't know how to do it but somehow it happened.

A notification window popped up.

"..."

"That's it? No explanations? Tf is this system"

He lost hope in that instant.

*crackle*

A sound reached his ear.

He searched for the source and found an elf that was stuck by a collapsed tree, he was quite miserable, given enough time he would die in no time.

But when Ken realized who it was, he approached it.

"Ooh, leader? How are you? It's nice down there eh?", he said sneeringly.

The leader was silent, it wasn't just because of his injured body, it was also his mental state.

After watching those fearsome higher-ups of his singlehandedly slaughtered by this human, he had lost all hope.

"You still had a chance you know?"

A light appeared in the team leader's eyes

But just as he raised his head, all he got was a single finger on his forehead.

*shing*

His whole body froze and made a hope crawling statue.

"Of course not you crafty bastard", Ken chuckled.

The statue seem alive and despite the hopeful expression, there was madness and anger in his eyes.

"I think I'm starting to understand those ice sculpture fanatics in fantasies"

This ice sculpture sure has an artistic value.

****

Ken was flying once again.

He was still carrying the ice statue.

At first, he wanted to destroy it because it kinda looked disgusting seeing that gleeful expression, but money is more important.

There must be many crazy rich guys in this world, right?

His objective now is to disguise himself and go to any dwarf city. The richer the better.

Considering the status between elves and dwarfs, the price of such an ice statue will definitely be high.

On the map given by Kernel the chief described the eastern as dwarves' territory, western as elves' territory, northern as human territory, and south as Beasts' territory.

It's apparent that the distribution of territory in this world was biased toward the dwarf and elves.

And so, Ken went to the eastern part.

As he was flying, he caught sight of a glass bottle a distance away from him. It was just floating there so he went and took a closer look.

He touched it carefully.

It then fell the moment his finger touched it.

He caught it and observed it closely. There was a red liquid inside it and when he opened the lid he smelled a familiar scent.

Ain't this a liquor?

"Heh, who would've thought I will get something good like this in the sky", He said as he started to drink it.

But after only one gulp, something inside him reacted.

He released the bottle and it dropped down. He caught it again using the air element.

He saw his entire body seem like it wants to burst.

Every tendon, every meat, every blood, everything seems like bursting.

*Spurt*

It really was bursting.

Started from his toes to his head, and blood started sprinkling. Even his self-healing wasn't fast enough to contain this burst.

After bursting several times, it all calmed down.

Confused, he looked at the bottle more carefully.

Red, smells, no matter how to see it, this really is a wine. But this is a different world after all, so everything is possible.

"Haa", Ken sighed.

"If only I had appraisal skill or observation skill... or even an assistant.... where's she anyway? Didn't she say that she does nothing all this time? Aion? Hello?"

There was no answer.

"Fine, whatever", He kept the bottle inside a plastic bag that he conjured using his mana and brought it like that. The bottle was covered with soft fabric that he made as he was afraid it would break.

"Maybe I should make a backpack?"

He would like to have those space storage rings that most fantasy protagonists had. But while he knew how to create a space crack, it wasn't exactly the safest place to put something in.

He then descended into a forest beneath him.

Naturally, he was searching for a suitable material as materials in this world seem to be stronger and more flexible than on earth.

cotton, for example, was too weak and hard to process with only him.

He caught sight of a tall tree and landed beside it.

He suddenly remembered about the ice statue he brought with him.

Because he levitates it with the air element, he wasn't always conscious of its existence.

This guy is too eye-catching... Now he really needs to get those space storage rings or pouches. Those mystical things were actually what he was searching for when he went to the flame dwarf city, but who would've thought it would be like this.

Right, he never tried experimenting with that space skill of his anymore.. it should be in the skill section.

With his mind, he chose that skill among the skill list.

[Skill]

- Space travel{active}

He opened a void with his hands and inserted the ice statue there.

"Wonder will this work"

Then he closed it.

He then opened it again and the ice statue was still there

Then he closed it again and started moving a hundred meters forward.

He opened it again and... it's not there. He coated his upper body and peeked his head inside. He looked around and found that ice sculpture right beside him, startling him.

He pulled it out and inspected it. It had no damage.

Still, it seemed the void's concept of space is a bit strange.

He opened it again and wondered, will he be safe? He didn't want to transmigrate again afterall. He then prepared himself by covering his body with armor, well something hard.. no, the hardest he know and of course, cast a huge ass fireball just in case.

He then charged it as he entered the crack. After entering it, He looked around and found the void beast he had once seen.

The beast was pitch dark with only its glowing color that made it different from the surrounding void.

As it approached him, the light from the fireball illuminated it. It appeared to be a glossy whale-like creature.

Just as it wanted to open its mouth, a huge fireball was launched towards it.

In the void, there was no gravity just like in space, however, that only applies to physical objects, whereas a mana-driven object will gravitate towards the core of the void world.

Well, coincidentally, the direction where the void whale came from was the core's direction.

And because the amount of mana and element in that fireball was so huge, it's speed was also fast which made it impossible to dodge even with a nimble movement, let alone a whale that was so big.

*BOOOM*

The aftershock could definitely kill him like last time, but not this time.

Though, the impact made him thrown through the space crack, colliding with dozens of trees before landing on the side of a mountain, making a crater where he landed.

He got on his feet and flew back into the space crack. Inside it, there was nothing different other than the fog.

The fog cleared quickly, revealing a burnt half body of that whale.
