Let the sky pour down
If that would make you smile
The last semester of my sophomore year came in a blink of an eye, unlocking a new dwelling place for me to write. Naturally, it was the only way I knew how to cope. I got busy as soon as I could, using my pain as fuel, my writing papers as distraction, and my productivity as a silver lining. I believe I've got everything I need to move forward.
“Roomie? Listen, I have an idea.”
I barely turned my head toward the voice, my eyes glued at the laptop screen as my fingers busily tapped the keys. “Yeah?”
“You don’t have to pay me back for your London trip. Can I have this instead?” There was a brimming excitement in her voice, that it was impossible not to spare her a glance. Stella stood before me, holding a piece of paper. And it wasn’t just a piece of paper—it was the poem I submitted for a class activity.
“I saw it on your desk and couldn’t resist not reading it. I’m sorry.”
