The warm flickering light softened the tension in the room, but beneath the golden hues, a deeper storm was brewing.
Guan Dong Liu exhaled slowly, fingers brushing down the front of his robe as his gaze fixed firmly on Jun Mo Xie.
"Young Master Jun," He said with a slightly bitter chuckle, "you truly are hidden⌠frighteningly so. I never imagined the infamous debauchee of Tian Xiang would turn out to be such a schemer beneath the surface. You've been hiding too deep."
His words weren't accusatory... no, they were laced with a subtle, self-deprecating admiration. The kind a man voiced only after he realized just how thoroughly he'd been outplayed.
Jun Wu Yi chuckled and coughed into his fist. "Brother Guan, this brat didn't just fool you⌠He even had this old cripple wrapped around his little finger... and his grandfather too. We only found out later that all that foolishness of his⌠the drinking, the womanizing, the gambling... it was all just an act. A smokescreen. Because the enemies were watching."
Guan Dong Liu went silent, lost in thought.
He remembered the past now. The tragedy that had befallen the Jun Familyâhow four pillars of their household had been brought down in a single sweeping strike. Jun Mo Xie's father⌠both elder brothers⌠and his second uncle.
All died under mysterious circumstances.
Everyone had thought the Jun Family would collapse after that.

Guan Dong Liu finally smiled, but there was a grimness to it. "Seems like those who thought the Jun Family was finished should have reconsidered."
Just then, Guan Qing Han blinked and turned her gaze toward Jun Mo Xie.
"Then... what are you planning now?" She asked. Her voice was calm, but there was a subtle tension in her shoulders, and her eyes gleamed with sharp clarity. "You've clearly set things in motion⌠but what?"
Jun Mo Xie's lips curled upward into that familiar, maddening smirk.
"Oh, nothing much," He replied casually, waving a hand. "Just that now is the best time to use the winds of chaos to scatter the rotten leaves and sow some new seeds."
Jun Wu Yi raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable. "What... kind of seeds?"
Jun Mo Xie chuckled and leaned closer, his voice dropping low and laced with mischief. "Why, the seeds of love, of course."
"...Love?" Guan Dong Liu repeated in a daze.
Jun Mo Xie leaned back, stretching his arms with exaggerated satisfaction. "Third Uncle, you've always been a man of great perception. Haven't you guessed it yet? The timing is perfect now⌠your second daughter-in-law has been waiting patiently for far too long."
Jun Wu Yi blinked. "Wait!... what daughter-in-law?"
Jun Mo Xie grinned and tapped his chin. "Second daughter-in-law, to be precise."
Jun Wu Yi's jaw almost hit the floor. "What are you talking about!?"
Guan Dong Liu nearly choked on his own saliva. "Secondâwhat now?!"
Even Guan Qing Han turned with a snap. "Mo Xie!!"
Jun Mo Xie scratched his head and laughed nervously. "Oops. I guess I let that slip."
"You guess?!" Jun Wu Yi's eyebrows twitched violently. "So you're telling me that my debauchee nephew, who was supposed to be acting like a bastard, was actually collecting wives behind my back?!"
"It's not like that," Jun Mo Xie said defensively. "It's just⌠you know⌠things happened."
Guan Dong Liu stared at him, utterly dumbfounded. "Young Master Jun, how... how many women are you hiding?"
Jun Mo Xie crossed his arms smugly. "At present? Just three. I think... maybe four. Depends on your definition."
"Three?" Guan Dong Liu repeated faintly, stunned beyond belief. "ThreeâŚ"
The man who once felt pride in his own sons for being gallant and noble now seriously questioned whether they could even be called men. Compared to this brat, who somehow romanced two high-class women while playing deadbeat, they were utterly useless.
Guan Qing Han rolled her eyes but couldn't hide the faint tinge of red creeping up her cheeks. She looked at her father with mild exasperation. "Father, there's no need to be dramatic. All of this happened before I got together with himâŚ"
Jun Wu Yi coughed violently. "Wait! You're admitting it?!"
Guan Qing Han's cheeks flushed. "And the elder sister is very nice. I like her."
"...You like her? You're calling her elder sister already?" Jun Wu Yi cried. "What sort of strange love triangle is this?!"
Guan Qing Han gave a proud sniff. "At least I'm not calling her a rival. And besides, we get along very well."
Jun Wu Yi turned to Jun Mo Xie with a look of sheer disbelief. "You⌠what did you do to her?! This was a woman ready to slap the daylights out of you just a few months ago!"
Jun Mo Xie shrugged innocently. "Charm?"
"Curses! You little brat!" Jun Wu Yi rubbed his temples furiously. "Your grandfather's going to skin you alive if he hears thisâŚ"
"He might actually be happy," Jun Mo Xie grinned. "After all, he always said our family needs more descendantsâŚ"
"That's not how it works!!" Jun Wu Yi shouted.
Guan Dong Liu was caught in a coughing fit of suppressed laughter. "Jun brother⌠I think the old man is⌠cultivating his own harem line."
"Don't encourage him!" Jun Wu Yi snapped, pointing an accusing finger.
"Oh, come on, Third Uncle," Jun Mo Xie said with a wink. "You were already planning to annul Qing Han's engagement, weren't you? And to adopt her as your daughter? If that's true, then I don't see the problem here."
"You still have a dead brother!" Jun Wu Yi exclaimed. "Aren't you being a bit too shameless?"
Jun Mo Xie's grin deepened. "No one more shameless than a man in love. Besides, we haven't officially dissolved the engagement yet⌠but we're working on it."
"You're unbelievableâŚ" Jun Wu Yi muttered.
Guan Dong Liu looked at his daughter, still flabbergasted. "You⌠you really like him this much?"
Guan Qing Han folded her arms and gave Jun Mo Xie a sideways look. "I didn't say I liked him."
Everyone turned to her.
"I said I love him," She corrected coolly.
The room went silent again.
Jun Mo Xie blinked in surprise before smiling. "Well, that's newâŚ"
She turned her face away, clearly trying to hide her growing blush.
Jun Wu Yi sighed heavily. "This family is cursed with madness... and love-sick fools."
"Uncle, you say that like it's a bad thing," Jun Mo Xie laughed.
Guan Dong Liu could only shake his head in defeat. "To think⌠I came to dissolve my daughter's broken engagement and return her to the family⌠and now I find her declaring love for the same family's youngest heir⌠This world is far too unpredictable."
Jun Wu Yi snorted. "It's not the world, Brother Guan. It's just him."
Suddenly, Guan Qing Han's gaze turned sharp. "Mo Xie, if you're planning something again, you better tell me this time. No more hiding."
Jun Mo Xie raised both hands in surrender. "Alright, alright. I'll keep you in the loop. ButâŚ"
He smirked. "I warn you, it's going to be fun."
"Fun for whom?" Guan Qing Han asked.
"Me, mostly," He admitted shamelessly.
She rolled her eyes and pinched his arm lightly. "You really need a leash."
"And a whip," Jun Wu Yi muttered.
"Hey, hey, let's not get into my private preferences," Jun Mo Xie laughed. "You never know what truths you might awaken."
That earned him a real slap to the back of the head from his uncle.
Even Guan Dong Liu laughed now, unable to contain it any longer. "Well⌠I suppose, if nothing else⌠my daughter will never be bored."
"She'll be exhausted," Jun Wu Yi muttered while rubbing his temples. "Physically and mentally."
Guan Qing Han rolled her eyes again but looked over at Jun Mo Xie with a faint, soft smile.
One that only he caught, and one that, in the silence between heartbeats, said.
You may be a scoundrel... but you're my scoundrel.
And Jun Mo Xie grinned back, eyes gleaming with pride, affection⌠and no small amount of dangerous mischief.
