Just then, a weak sound broke the air.
"Umm…"
Ye Guhan, who had been lying unconscious, moved. His eyelashes fluttered, and he slowly opened his eyes.
"Uncle Ye!" Princess Ling Meng cried out. Her knees nearly gave way as relief flooded her. Tears burst out, falling like beads from a broken string. She had believed he was gone, that she would never hear his voice again.
But he was alive and awake.
"Xiao… Xiao Meng…" Ye Guhan's voice was weak, but the moment he saw her, a gentle light filled his eyes. "You… are alright. That's… that's good…"
Even at the edge of death, his first worry was her.
Princess Ling Meng covered her mouth, trying to stop her sobs, but they kept escaping. She leaned closer, trembling, unable to hide how much she cared for him.
Behind her, Jun Mo Xie raised an eyebrow.
'First the knife scene, now this emotional reunion… today is too much.'
And Dugu Xiao Yi just blinked innocently, still hugging her moon-bright blade as if it were a precious treasure.
Jun Mo Xie rose to his feet, dusting his robe as if brushing away the heavy emotions in the room. His expression was calm, like a blade covered by silk.
He looked straight at Princess Ling Meng and spoke in a steady, matter-of-fact tone, "Even though he's fine, he still needs more time to recuperate. So it's best to avoid future troubles. You will have to announce to the world that Ye Gu Han has died due to his injuries. And… you should go through me when you wish to meet him in the future. I'll make the required adjustments."
Princess Ling Meng's fingers curled tightly around her skirt. She bit her lip and nodded softly. She understood exactly what he meant.
If the truth came out, Ye Guhan's enemies would swarm like wolves.
"Jun Moxie, I… thank you."
Those were the only words she managed to force out. Anything more lodged in her throat.
Jun Mo Xie waved his hand dismissively. "No need to thank me. I only saved him because of my third uncle."
His voice held no warmth, no pride, but just cold truth. He turned and headed toward the door with casual steps, as if he hadn't just changed someone's fate.
But just before he stepped out, he stopped.
Then he slowly turned his head, a faint smile curling on his lips, but not a friendly one.
"Oh, and one more thing."
The room instantly froze.
A crushing killing intent burst out of him like a tidal wave, smashing into everyone present. The warm atmosphere shattered, replaced by a suffocating cold.
The air felt thick, heavy, and alive with death.
Jun Mo Xie's eyes turned razor-sharp, glowing with murderous intent that could freeze blood. His voice came out slow and clear, the kind that carved itself deep into one's bones.
"If what happens here leaks outside, then you all will be DEAD."
Nobody doubted him, and nobody dared to.
Even Ye Guhan, a Sky Xuan Expert, felt his entire soul tremble. Sweat poured down his back. He tried to move, but his body refused to obey, as if a mountain had been placed on his chest.
'How… how is this possible? Is he really the same wastrel I despised?... How many lives has he taken to create such killing intent? Even experts struggle to form this kind of aura…'
Jun Mo Xie snorted softly, as if everyone here was nothing more than noisy insects, and walked out.
The moment the pressure disappeared, everyone gasped for breath, clutching their chests.
Princess Ling Meng trembled violently as she stared at his departing back.
'Just how much… is he hiding inside him?!'
No one dared to speak and dared to even breathe too loudly.
Because every single person in that room knew one thing clearly that it wasn't an empty threat.
He would kill them all without blinking.
Later, after calming down, Jun Mo Xie didn't spare the three girls either. He scolded them so thoroughly that all three ended up crying, wiping their tears while fleeing the Jun Manor like scared rabbits.
He didn't comfort them, not even a little.
Troubles were troubles, and he had no patience for stupidity.
The day passed peacefully until evening descended.
That was when the cold-blooded master, Lei Wu Bei, stormed into the city looking for Solitary Falcon and Wen Cang Yu. His arrival alone sent the entire district buzzing with tension.
Jun Mo Xie merely glanced in the direction of the disturbance and shrugged.
Solitary Falcon could handle that old monster just fine.
In fact, Jun Mo Xie even added fuel to the fire, killing Lei Wu Bei's injured disciples who had barely been clinging to life.
Their deaths ignited Lei Wu Bei's fury like pouring oil on a flame.
Jun Mo Xie didn't care as he had more important matters.
Most of his time was spent training his newly gathered soldiers, pushing them far beyond their limits, increasing intensity again and again until the men collapsed from exhaustion.
To him, shaping them into steel was far more important than dealing with one furious old master.
The sounds of agony from the training grounds rose like waves. It wasn't the chaotic noise of an untrained crowd. It was the disciplined, terrifying chorus of men being forged into weapons.
Jun Zhan Tian and Jun Wu Yi stood atop the high tower of the Jun Residence, robes fluttering in the sharp wind. Both had spent decades bathing in blood on countless battlefields. They had seen men die, seen empires burn, seen horrors no ordinary person could imagine.
And yet, a thin shiver crawled down their spines as they watched the three hundred soldiers below.
"These brats…" Grandpa Jun muttered as he gripped the railing. His old knuckles went white.
Below, the men crashed through Jun Mo Xie's brutal training regimen. Their Xuan Qi cultivation wasn't impressive, but their bodies screamed of monstrous physical strength.
And around them, a faint haze of killing intent was oozing.
Even two old battlefield monsters like Jun Zhan Tian and Jun Wu Yi felt goosebumps prickling up their arms.
Jun Mo Xie stood a distance away, arms crossed, watching his men with eyes as cold as winter steel. There wasn't even a flicker of pity or hesitation in his eyes. He pushed them again and again, as if breaking them was the only way to rebuild them.
Jun Zhan Tian exhaled heavily and spoke with a solemn voice, "Wu Yi… look at that training. What do you think he plans to do with them? Why train them to such an extent?"
Jun Wu Yi's gaze did not leave the training field. His eyes glowed with a strange light.
"Such training… it can only be for one purpose," He whispered. "These men are not being shaped into soldiers. They are being shaped into executioners. They might not defeat an enemy in a fair fight, but that's not the point. Mo Xie is training them for one thing—Slaughter."
His voice trembled slightly with raw desire.
Any general would dream of possessing such a unit. A three-hundred-man team capable of breaking an army's spine.
"Slaughter…" Grandpa Jun repeated the word heavy as a boulder. "Even if they are trained to slaughter… who will they slaughter for? And for what reason? These questions matter... for the future of the entire country…"
Jun Wu Yi finally looked away from the soldiers. His voice dropped to an icy whisper.
"This child believes they will fight for only one person. For Mo Xie. For Mo Xie and the Jun Family." His expression hardened. "He is our future. With him… what importance do the other people of this country hold?"
Jun Zhan Tian stared at him, shocked for a moment.
That wasn't how Wu Yi used to think.
It was Mo Xie's influence.
Jun Mo Xie's frightening, ruthless way of thinking had begun to infect his uncle.
"This kind of strength…" Grandpa Jun murmured as he rubbed his forehead. "Once revealed, it will bring jealousy and suspicion from all sides."
"Jealousy? Suspicion? Why should we care?" Jun Wu Yi scoffed. His sharp gaze flashed like steel. "When has the Jun Family ever done wrong? Haven't we always stood for the people?"
His words carried confidence, yet underneath, a darkness was growing.
Grandpa Jun sighed, then suddenly changed the subject, his voice lightening. "Oh? Since Mo Xie has grown up, as his uncle, you should be worried about his marriage, no?"
Jun Wu Yi blinked, then let out a rare chuckle.
"Why should I be worried as long as you're around…?" He replied dryly.
Grandpa Jun swung his fist at him. "You brat, are you mocking me?!"
Jun Wu Yi dodged with a grin.
