Dan stands before his brother's apartment door with a fast-running heartbeat. He is scared to find what's happening at the other end of this door.
He doesn't want this to be true, but everything is pointing at that. Why would Amon lie? Why is his wife not in his apartment, leaving her very young son behind? Where else could she be at this time of the night when most people are sleeping?
His eyes have been staring at his brother's apartment door knob, wondering whether to grab it or not.
His brother has a very bad habit of never locking his door. Whenever confronted by it, he always says that he has nothing valuable inside his house, so there is no need to lock it.
But tonight, Dan hopes that his brother has locked the door, giving him an excuse not to go in and check what's happening.
Because if he doesn't see what's going on inside, he will have a reason to deny his wife's cheating. Even though it's a very delusional view, it's still something to keep his sanity intact.
