Amaris moved instinctively toward the voice.
The ocean around her was silent and dark, yet her astral body drifted through the water effortlessly, as though she belonged there. Schools of glowing fish scattered as she passed, their silver bodies illuminating ancient ruins buried beneath the sea.
The deeper she went, the colder the water became.
Then, without warning, a violent pressure struck her chest.
Amaris gasped.
Her body froze as unfamiliar memories flashed through her mind.
Blood.
Chains.
A pair of crimson eyes staring at her from the darkness.
And a voice whispering softly beside her ear.
"You finally came back to me."
Amaris' breathing became uneven.
The images disappeared as quickly as they had appeared.
"What... was that?" she whispered.
The strange pull inside her chest grew stronger.
