Katherine felt refreshed. She probably lied when she said she is fine with Klaus. But deep and even on the surface, Katherine has no hate for Klaus Mikealson. But to help him out? Why on earth would she do such a thing?
She walked away from the table and entered her treehouse, falling sleep. She can sleep during the day now. Being in a dark dimension for years will do that.
When she woke up, Elijah is holding her body very tightly. She took a shower and walked out, without even talking to him. In the pack house, Lan is looking over documents with June.
"Kat, you remember Lana?" June brought Katherine a plate of qi food, his busy figure made Lan raise an eyebrow.
"Everyone treats you very well." Lana said lightly.
"Why wouldn't they? I'm adorable." Katherine ate her food as if there is no one who keeps glancing at her.
"We were not done." Klaus entered the kitchen and stood next to her. Katherine ignored him until she finished eating.
"But I am." Katherine proceeded to ignore him. Klaus looked like he is going to lose his temper.
"Shouldn't you be spending time with your daughter?" Katherine asked his curiously.
"You are one to talk. Didn't you jump into oblivion just to avoid being a mother?" Klaus ridiculed.
"Smack!" His head hit the ground hard. It cracked his skull and killed him, temporary.
"Sigh..." Katherine sounded helpless. She gave Lana who looks horrified an awkward smile.
They say no one knows you better than your enemy. Elijah walked in and took Klaus away from the room. He gave her an exasperated look, which she responded to with an eye roll.
"Can someone please clean the blood off the floor?" June took Lana to another seating room. Lana felt a chill up her spine. That man is THE hybrid. Katherine, who looks as delicate as a flower slapped him on to the ground with a single slap!
"Sorry." Katherine went upstairs and continued with her sleep. Lana is a witch so she should be familiar with vampires.
When Katherine woke up, she found Mikel seated outside her room like a guard. She smiled fondly.
"This brings back memories." She admitted. Mikel looked her up and down as if she could be hurt.
"I knew that Elijah exposed everything for a reason. He wants to force your hand?" Mikel looks about ready to kill people. His usually calm eyes have suddenly become all black. The aura of death leaking out from him in waves.
Katherine put her hand on his face to sooth him. "Seat." She took him into her room and let him sit on the chair while she guided him into the heart mantra meditation.
After Mikel recited the mantra a few times, he felt all the boiling emotions gradually cool down considerably. At last, he could feel himself think. When he saw Katherine's eyes, he quickly pulled her into his arm.
"I am so happy you are back." The shaking of his voice, reminded Katherine of the first time she met Mikel.
"I will not go anywhere this time. Is everything ready?" She asked Mikel who nodded.
Let's wait for the fish to bite. Katherine had gone to give her clan enough time to grow strong, and find the organization's complecated web of influence. She meditated with Mikel for four hours before receiving a call from Rose.
"Kat.."
"Rose."
"Sigh.."
"Rose."
"You are being very unfair to me. But, I found it."
"See to it is hidden well. I am sure the hybrid will be looking." Katherine warned.
"Alright."
"What about the Strix?" Katherine asked with a cold voice.
"All those involved are monitored, those still alive anyway. They made the mistake of confronting the originals and almost got wiped out."
"When you say it like that, I feel incompetent to have been brought down by them." Kay grumbled.
"They came at you with that pit, something they're couldn't do with the original family." Rose explained gently.
"Find the 'three clans.' Afterwards, do nothing for now except for hiding it." She instructed sternly.
"Copy that." Rose dropped the call.
Looking at Mikel, Katherine smiled. "So, you and Rebekah huh?"
"Its not serious." Mikel sounded defensive.
"She may be powerful, but she has been protected by her overbearing brothers all her life, take care not to hurt the girl." She walked towards the door, but Mikel pulled her arm gently.
He looked at her in the eyes for a full minute, his blue eyes seem to have strange magic, pulling her into an endless abyss.
"You want to go back and be with him?" He seems to speak through clenched teeth.
"No." Katherine surprised even herself they way she is not hesitant at all about it. "I am done with him. But.." She looked at Mikel.
"I promised to give him time before moving on. I agreed." Mikel nodded.
"But you still love him." It's a statement.
"I was ready to spend eternity with just him as a lover and companion. It won't be easy to move on. But I am a straightforward person, Mikel, I have never had those kind of feeling for you."
"Liar!" Mikel looks amused. "Can you look at me and say you do not find me attractive?"
"That is not the same thing. I am not made of rocks, of course I find you attractive. But relationships are different from passion, Mikel. Commitment to another person is different feom wanting to jump someone. It is long term and it is binding."
"If it is so binding, why are you separating feom Elijah?" Mikel asked, his eyes have become darker.
"When I decided to commit to him, I hadn't expected to fall pregnant. I thought, he can choose his brother all he wants and it won't bother me. I was happy with just a part of him that he was willing to share with me."
"After having children, I realized the small part of him is simply too small to be devided since I would not only have to compete with Klaus for him, but Klaus's daughter will no doubt take a large chunk. What will be left for my children after that?" Katherine poured out her truth.
"Is that why you won't help Klaus remove the Hallow? Because then, Elijah will be back to being his family's Mr. Fix it?"
"No. I honestly don't want to help him. Not harming him is graceful enough." She sneered. Now that she knows how to kill the monster, all she has to do is wait. Why would she work with him and reduce his anxiety?
"Then, I want a chance. Of course I will wait for you however long Elijah needs but I want to show you my feelings and devotion. Please.." Katherine looked at Mikel with wide eyes. Wow..he can sound so alluring?
Seeing her dazed look, Mikel couldn't suppress his smile and leaned down, his lips brushed against hers lightly, shocking her back from being dazed. She took a step back before dashing out of her room.
Her heart hammering in her chest, cheeks flushed and her breathing irragular. "Damn."
Shaking her head, she decided to go on a trip and avoid Mikel and Klaus for a while.
She took the kids to the beach, which is very far from Mystic Falls, so they used her space power.
Hope came along, her father told her to. Klaus is going to look for the pit and any information about the place and those related to it.
After coming out of the pack house barrier, Klaus couldn't be around his kid anymore. Katherine refused to help Rebekah and Klaus remove the Hallow, saying she is not strong enough.
Elijah joined them on the outting. Although he had to use vampire speed to reach the place. Katherine refused to take him there with her power.
The four kids played on the beach, wore swimsuits and played in the pools. Katherine had been painting the scenes.
By the time the sun went down, they drove back because of the nausea from using a portal. After eating all the sweets and snaks during the day, they would definitely get sick.
They booked a room at a nearby hotel whice happened to be holding vampires. As soon as they saw Katherine's appearance, they set their sight on her.
The family ate in the hotel restaurant. Andy kept removing tomatoes from his place and placing them on Hope's plate.
Hope narrowed her eyes. Only to see other keeping their plates far away from Andy, which left only her own place since she is seated next to him.
Katherine widened her eyes. "Andvari Petrova Mikaelson!" She whisper yelled. Andy looked at his mom with a horrified expression.
"Mom!" He said horrified at his old Viking name being called out.
"Hehe.." Erna laughed at his name.
The others also tried to hide their amusement. Hope looked at Andy with curiosity. He snapped.
"You try being named by a thousand years old Viking grandfather." Hope smiled.
"My father named me." Hope said pointedly.
"Right." Andy remembered Klaus is also a thousand years old and also a viking.
"Your grandfather was very proud of those names. He loved throwing you all in the air while calling you little Vikings." Katherine smiled fondly.
"You two got along?" Hope blinked.
"After we settled our differences. We got along splendidly." Katherine showed a bright smile.
Elijah, who joined them in the beach, looked anywhere but her direction. "Do you disagree?" She asked him with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, I wouldn't say 'got along' it was more of tigers and lions showing each other whose king." Elijah said with a smile.
"And?" She asked nonchalantly. "He started it."
"Right." He agreed.
"I sense a story." Erna said in a hush voice to Hope who discretely nodded in agreement.
"What happened?" Andrew asked. His big brown eyes shining with curiosity.
"Your mother..." Elijah started, but Katherine stopped him.
"Why start with what I did? We agreed he started it." Katherine defended.
Elijah chuckled. Its not like he can tell the kids all the gory details of the story.
"What a coincidence, Elijah." A vampire walked towards their table, looking straight at Elijah. Her eyes showed a torrent of emotions. The most prominent is longing and regret.
Elijah on the other hand lifted his head. When he recognized her, his pupils shrank.
"Antoinette." Elijah called out, his eyes glued on the woman as if there is only the two of them in the room.
"Oh?" Katherine's playful voice cut through the tension between them. "Antoinette. Please take a seat."
Antoinette looked at Katherine with a bit of probing. She still modestly refused.
"I wouldn't intrude on your family dinner." She declined with impeccable manners.
"I insist." Katherine said with a smile that is not a smile. The room suddenly became cold. "Sit." She commanded, Antoinette found herself unable to refuse.
"Katherine." Elijah looked at Katherine whose eyes have turned into those of her beast. His breath caught in his throat.
"Antoinette. I quite like your voice. Can you sing?" Katherine drank soup with a spoon. Her smiling eyes never leaving the beautiful woman her ex husband called out with such tenderness.
"No, I can't say that I can." Antoinette maintained an elegant demeanor. But Elijah saw small beads of sweat on her forehead.
The kids seems continued to eat like before, Erna laughing at Hope for getting her plate filled with tomatoe slices from Andy. Elijah wanted to stop Katherine, but them he thought it a good sign that she is jealous of other women around him. But then, what Katherine asked next made him turn to Antoinette sharply.
"What about your friends? The ones you have stationed on all the tables around ours?" Katherine spoke with a smile. Antoinette swallowed, for some reason, she felt like something terrible is about to happen.
"I..." Antoinette looked at Elijah as if to explain something.
"Antoinette, you look at me. Don't turn to him. What is it that brought you here?" Her voice has become so cold, Erna shivered from her seat. She glanced at her mother in hesitation, but when she saw the anger on her father's face, she kept silent.
Antoinette seems to have selective mutism all of a sudden, her hand is shaking at the pressure Katherine is releasing.
"We just want the girl." Someone came over from one of the tables. The look on her face rubbed Amelia the wrong way.
"Which girl?" Katherine looked genuinely curious.
"The hybrid spawn." Another man spat with so much hate, Katherine could feel it in his tone. The man looked straight at Hope across from his position.
Katherine gave him a glance. She saw Hope tremble in her seat. Not knowing if from anger or fear.
"Ugh..." The previously aggressive man fell on his knees with blood coming out from his eyes, nose and mouth. A lot of blood. Then scene looked absolutely terrifying.
Everyone on the nearby tables stood up. Seeing their comrade literally bleed to death in front of them made them angry.
"What happened to him?" Antoinette walked to the man and turned him over. His vampire body has already started desecration.
"He's dead." She closed her mouth in horror.
"Katherine...the kids." Elijah scolded her. She just shrugged.
"Be honest Elijah, this is tame." Katherine chuckled. She looked at the visibly shaken crowd and gave a smile.
"Now, I am going to ask again. See to it the one who answers me does not annoy me. The price of annoying me is pretty steep. Someone explain to me, what it is you want with the girl?" Katherine asked the people surrounding her.
"She is to be purified." He didn't speak further, then he started to tremble, he felt so much pain that his mind started to feel like mush.
"Wait! I can explain more." He managed to shout, but his body also started to bleed out. The others are not standing without attacking because they don't want to.
Their limbs are stuck in place as if they weigh too much. Infact, the ground is beginning to crack under each of their feet.
Katherine's voice sounded again. "Whose next?"
Just then, many more people walked into the restaurant. Many surrounded the table while the remaining started fighting with the vampires from before. The leader is one of her previous eunuchs Jiro.
In lightning fast speed, he knelt in front of the triplets. "Clan leaders! Forgive us for arriving late, are you hurt?" The triplets came back to their senses. Andy is the first to speak.
"These people want to harm my friend. Find out everything and text me the details." He instructed sharply.
"We will execute the order!" They answered at once with a lot of respect. Katherine is appeased.
"Alright. Text me the details. Secure this place." Erna also got into leader mode and started barking orders.
Eric walked out from the encirclement and reached the body of the second vampire to 'annoy' his mother.
"How did he die?" He asked the one nearest.
"He seems to have a melted brain." Katherine, who is busy snacking on the melting dessert did not see the people giving her subtle glances.
"Kat, let me take you guys home." Katherine heard a familiar voice, Paige came in and opened a portal for them to step through.
Hope watched all of this with her mouth showing an 'O' shape.
Hope, Elijah, and Katherine walked through the portal, leaving everything on the kids to handle. She is retired after all.
Hope looked at Katherine several times as if wanting to say something. Katherine ignored her and went to her tree house. Elijah brought Hope to Klaus who is already waiting for them.
"I hear you ran into some trouble?" In the pack house, Klaus and Hayley rushed up to check on Hope.
"Baby, are you okay? They didn't touch you did they?" She looked up at Elijah, her eyes changing. "Who are they?"
"More importantly, where are they?" Klaus looked at Katherine still eating out of a dessert cup.
She ignored the common and continued to walk towards the tree house.
"We are not done here." Klaus appeared in front of her in a flash.
She gave him a dark smile. Klaus instinctively took a step back.
Katherine continued to walk away. She completely disregarded him.
"Still has the personality of a child. No self control at all." Katherine grumbled without looking back.
Elijah told Hayley and Klaus what happened. When they found out the people were looking for her child and calling it a 'hybrid spawn.' He explained the hate these vampires showed for Hope.
Elijah also told Nicklaus about Antoinette and that she may have deliberately approached him. He reminded him of where he knew her from and why they may have come for revenge.
The next morning, Katherine is annoyed to see the three people in her table, eating breakfast as if they are part of her family.
"Is this your base of operations now?" She asked Klaus who seems to enjoy her annoyance.
"This is the only place I can be with my daughter without waking the Hallow. Don't tell me you want me to give that up?" He asked her while putting butter on his daughter's bread.
"Plus, I still need to wait fir the investigation on the side of your clan."
"Are you seriously not going to remove this thing from us?" Rebekah walked in blazing. She looks to have a lot to say.
"How about a choice? I can allow you to become pregnant, or I can remove the Hallow from you. Remember, you can only have one." Katherine smiled when Rebekah's eyes widen.
"Haven't you always wanted to have children? If you make one with a wolf, it could even turn out to be like Hope, an unstoppable force of nature. The kind of child blessed with many gifts and abilities to protect themselves, and you, from your family's endless number of enemies." Katherine evaded the table knife Klaus threw at her face.
"Do you ever stop?" Klaus gritted out. Katherine shrugged.
"You are the ones delivering yourselves to my door step. I am a fox, I enjoy my breakfast with a bit of chaos." She drank her coffee with a mischievous chuckle.
"Can you really do it? Make be able to conceive?"
"Of course."
"So you admit to knowingly falling pregnant for my brother back then?" Klaus seem to have caught her right handed.
"I may have loved your brother, but if I want children, he would never make the list. Trust me."
"Perhaps you wanted our bloodline for yourself."
"There's Kol, but I would have chosen Finn for breeding, he was taller and more humane than any of you people." Katherine argued.
"Eewu really?"
"Yeah. Having the triplets was a surprise, one you almost took away from me." She pointed at Klaus with her chin.
"How was I supposed to know you magically linked yourself with him? Or that you went ahead and got knocked up?" Klaus ridiculed.
"That's all in the past. Right now, I can make your sister conceive a child of her own, but the price is that she must never come in contact with her siblings and little niece." Katherine looked at Rebekah with her signature smirk. "Are you willing?"
"Rebekah.." Klaus looked at his sister as if he already knows what she will say.
"I always wondered. You have been alive for so long, why not build something after the death of your father? Because we both know how that went the last time Elijah did that while he lived. But, he is gone now, what have you done?"
"You wouldn't be so dependent on your indestructible siblings if you built a power of your own." Katherine said with curiosity.
Klaus slapped the table, almost turning it into splinters. He angrily stormed away from the garden.
Katherine knows what made him angry. After all, Katherine disappeared for so long and was forgotten by the world, but her clan refused to switch to him, even at the cost of their lives. How dare she mocks him for not having an army?
