Seraphina gently coaxed, "How about I stay with you, always by your side, never leaving? If anyone bullies you, we'll face them together, okay? Can you stop being like this..."
Her voice carried a tremor, one she hadn't even noticed herself.
She had never seen him like this before. She began to rethink where she had started speaking wrong; perhaps from the moment she sat here, she had been wrong?
"If we lose, you die with me," Ethan Sterling looked at her.
"Okay." Seraphina answered straightforwardly, the warmth from her hand continuously transferring to the man before her.
Ethan saw the determination in her eyes. He understood she indeed wanted to leave, but she was also truly willing to die with him.
Ethan slightly lowered his head, positioning it perfectly so that her hand was touching every inch of his face.
Her hand was soft, softening even his heart with it.
He closed his eyes, avoiding her gaze, and resolutely said, "Let's go, leave here."
