Eryn Galen was never described as powerful. It was described as deliberate.
On the Blue Planet, the name was spoken carefully, almost reverently, as if saying it too quickly might misrepresent it. A small empire. A quiet land. A place that had refused to rush when the rest of the world began to run.
Founded by Everwood the Great, long before the First Evolution rewrote the rules of civilization, Eryn Galen had been built on a stubborn idea: that growth did not require severance. That advancement did not require amputation from the soil.
During the First Evolution, when hybridization swept across continents, when cities fused with engineered biology and nations altered themselves in pursuit of efficiency; Eryn Galen opposed it. Not violently. Not loudly. It simply declined.
It became the last land to refuse integration.
The world called them archaic. Romantic. Fragile.
Yet the empire endured.
