Chapter 613 - New Challenge 6

That showed that each of them possessed great skill and had mastered what Alyssia had been learning, while it had shown that they were at the peak limitations of what physical strength they could attain.

What made it much worse for her was how they were able to keep her busy and would not let her get a moment to rest.

They just kept at it, leaving not a single moment for her to relax.

A split second could result in them hitting her if she were not careful.

It was not just the fact that she was outnumbered by them that they were causing such difficulties for Alyssia; it was their skill and ability to work together, along with what seemed to be a high mastery over at least two types of Haki.

Shanks and Gaban were a challenge to fight with due to their combat power working together against her, but it was not as bad as the present situation.

There was too much pressure on her at all times as she had to pay attention to so much more that was going on all around her.

All of her senses had to be that much sharper so that she could avoid being hit.

The Armament Haki would not be that much of an issue for her if she were hit with it by one of them, but multiple attacks together would not be something that she would be able to endure forever.

She would eventually feel that her own Haki was being used up to endure each attack, and the combined forces of each of her opponents would wear hers down eventually.

What she felt the most pressure for was that she would be hit enough times that she would reach a point where she would be left defenceless without the ability to use her Haki anymore, without tiring herself out further.

If that happened, then it would be a matter of whether they still had Haki left over to attack her enough to cause her any damage, or if they themselves would run out at around the same time, leaving them with not many opportunities to cause her harm before they were in the same state.

What Alyssia had gained from each exchange was that she had to adapt to each minute change happening all around her, while she needed to be able to pay attention to not just those closest to her, but those further away who were sending attacks her way.

There was one thing that she had found out earlier, which let her make use of her physical strength without using her Electro or fire techniques, and that was that each of the people she was fighting did not possess a Devil Fruit ability.

She could focus entirely on a fight where all of her opponents were only using their physical strength and the combat techniques they had mastered.

She felt pressured by her fight with Shanks, allowing her to grow rapidly, just as she continued to grow further as she pushed herself against the others in the Red Haired Pirates, whom she fought individually and one against all at other times.

It was just as challenging and dangerous to fight against Gaban and Shanks when they were fighting her together.

Each of those experiences had allowed her to reach a stage where she was ready to face the current challenge without suffering a big loss right away.

It was like she was dancing all around the current location as she weaved through the onslaught of attacks.

Each strike, slam or projectile that came at her seemed to hit her, but passed through an afterimage before the same thing happened again several times within the short span of a couple of seconds.

Multiple afterimages of Alyssia were torn apart while new ones appeared very close by.

She was attacked again and again in such a manner that her response time had improved greatly, and her range of movements had become much smaller and more precise.

Some movements required more precise control and coordination at times that involved recruiting smaller muscles for finer movements, but they could be more challenging and energy-intensive.

Energy flow in movements could vary from free-flowing and easy to stop to powerful and tight, as the variation of energy could affect the overall energy usage and the intensity of the movements.

Each of the movements could enhance various technical skills, but could also contribute to energy efficiency.

That delicate balance allowed her to conserve her energy better, making minute movements while still being able to make more challenging and energy-intensive movements when it was needed.

Each of the attacks coming at Alyssia did not have anything holding them back, as the full force was released from each of them.

All kinds of powerful effects were created by each of them, making the ground in the surrounding area shake.

There were many crashing and rumbling noises as those attacks kept missing their intended target, resulting in them hitting somewhere else.

The ground, trees and mountains were cut up and smashed apart, causing things to fall apart or be split enough to send the affected areas all around or to be thrown up into the air.

Not all of the ground could be stable and solid enough to keep using to move around, as holes and cracks started to open up.

Everyone had to be careful not to step onto unstable ground or to fall into one of those holes.

The surrounding debris that got knocked around and upward was up in the air for a little while before coming back down, but not before they were used by Alyssia, who was leaping off them to gain more speed and to manoeuvre better, making use of her environment.

It was like she had been springing around like a coiled spring a lot of the time, while there were other times that she had been able to move around in a less linear path, as she was able to alter her trajectory with the slightest of movements.

Una stayed back watching everything without intervening so she could see everything that was taking place.

Alyssia had been on the defensive and was outnumbered, yet she remained untouched.

No harm was coming to her, and despite there being several close calls, Una could tell that there was never any danger to Alyssia in those moments.

Her people meant to inflict maximum damage to Alyssia and were not holding back in the slightest, yet Alyssia had been able to keep going without suffering even a little.
