Despite realising the situation she was in, she still did not resort to something that would end things sooner.
With such an opponent in front of her, such an opportunity would not come again so easily.
She made full use of the time she had to test the limitations of her current state, which she rarely got to use against others.
It was thrilling to be able to unleash everything once more after having to keep suppressing herself to be able to fight on equal footing with others.
Finally, she was able to feel satisfied, but at the same time, she felt like she was being challenged and that things would not be so easy for her.
The grin on her face widened further as she spoke. "I guess that you are going to be the first to draw out this technique."
Her stance changed a little as her legs moved more rapidly, building up more power.
The style of combat was similar but different in the way that the intent behind her moves had changed. "I would not come into this fight if I were not prepared for the possibility that my opponent would have a troublesome ability like this."
Her foot kicked out, creating more force, but it had more penetration in it, creating an impact and strong winds along with what she had already been using.
The force created a hole in the middle of the flames at the very point where they converged at their epicentre.
With such a hole punched in the middle of the flames, it caused the flames to break apart and be spread out further by the force of the thrust of her every kick.
The flames themselves lost their form as they split off each time.
The force created caused a lot of it to be extinguished despite how strong and hot the flames had been.
That allowed Alyssia to take advantage of that situation, as the power of the flames was not able to build up any further, and it had been diminished.
Her leg whipped out as she continued with her fast assault toward the flames that were still under the control of Una, who was still attacking her.
The force produced by those kicks ended up cutting through the flames, separating them from where they had been severed.
What followed was the flames parting further, while some parts had shown signs of being extinguished, leaving behind smoke clouds where they had been.
The style of combat that Alyssia had continued to train had been based on the Foxfire style that belonged to Kinemon due to how useful it could be toward dealing with opponents who used fire as an ability or technique.
While she had developed her Inferna technique further, she had still worked on ways to counter such opponents.
It had already been understood that using Inferna against Una would not work, and it could only make things more difficult for her.
There were opponents that would be quite suited to that style that made use of her Inferna and other fire-based techniques, but the current situation would only make her have to endure more heat and fire beyond what she was already experiencing.
It was a powerful technique in many ways, but it could not be used without having to endure the negative effects that would come along with it.
It was more of an all-or-nothing way of fighting technique, where she would have to continue to endure the effects of the flames she would create on herself using her own Haki to prevent herself from being harmed.
It could become a double-edged sword in many ways if she used it in the wrong way.
The Elecko and her god mode relied on her ability to handle Electro, which had already reached a much higher state.
Even the strain of using her god mode had been reduced by a huge degree after she had trained her outer body and internal body using her electro technique, which used her Electro to stimulate and temper those parts of her body.
The physical strain from having to put her body through that kind of stress and amplified state was no longer something that she needed to worry about anymore.
It did cost her more energy to use that form, but it would no longer leave behind any negative effects after using it, like muscle fatigue, an aching body or anything else.
So many ranged attacks came at Alyssia at a rapid rate as the fight continued.
All of them were made up of the flames that had become projectiles in various shapes.
That only made her respond with her own attacks that cut through them or extinguished them, allowing her to clear the way and avoid having to move out of the way of them while navigating the surrounding area.
A huge fireball came right at her, resulting in her responding with a rapid kick upward.
The wind and shockwave effects created resulted in the fireball being cut in half and separating, allowing a path between it to be created.
The attack of hers continued onward without stopping as if it had yet to complete its purpose once the flames were cut.
Rather than being made to move from the ranged attacks or be disrupted by them, Alyssia was able to make her move to turn the battle more in her favour.
It started to result in Una having to evade and block her ranged attacks that came flying at her at a very high speed.
All of those attacks had been very similar to Alyssia's finger pistol and tempest kick techniques, but they carried the insights she had toward combating fire.
Since Alyssia had no ice or water-based techniques, she had to rely purely on those kinds of techniques to counter each of the attacks that Una used.
Fire was the main element that she struggled with when it came to training her resistances, but she had managed to find another way of overcoming it.
The only problem was that she barely had a chance to test it out.
That had changed once Una began to use her powers against her.
Alyssia finally found a way to properly test the techniques that she had been honing in a real battle.
She may not have started out doing everything perfectly, but she quickly improved the more she fought.
Gradually, the battle started to take a turn further as blows were traded more and more.
Brutal strikes were exchanged one after another as they did not just clash with their attacks meeting.
Some of them began to hit their mark and deal damage.
The damage sustained started to become more visible on both of them, even though they made every effort to protect their bodies with Armament and Conqueror's Haki.
Una took a step back, holding her biggest wound that appeared on her shoulder, while a trail of blood dripped down from her lip. "You think this is enough to beat me?"
As she said those words, the flames continued to rise on her body, enveloping her completely.
It was not obvious what was happening inside the flames until a moment later, once they died down a little, and her form could be seen again.
The wounds that were visible had vanished as if they no longer existed.
Alyssia cursed under her breath upon seeing it. "Damnit... I had a feeling that there was more to her ability. It just had to be a regenerative type of flame."
It seemed to have similar properties to the flame of Marco the Phoenix in how it could heal the user, but it was unknown if such a flame could be used to heal others or warm them without harming them.
Different lore of legendary salamanders would describe the abilities a little differently based on the folklore.
Some Salamanders would possess both fire and poison abilities, while others would be extremely cold, allowing them to extinguish flames and live in extremely hot environments.
