When Vera Warner opened her eyes, she found herself in a hospital. She sat up subconsciously, her first thought being, 'How is Zola?'
Just as she was about to get out of bed, the door to the hospital room opened, and the person who came in was none other than Victor Morgan.
Unlike the cold expression he usually wore, his face was now full of concern.
"You're awake. Zola is out of danger now. I really have you to thank for this."
Vera Warner hadn't yet pieced together what had happened. She had only seen that Zola was in danger and jumped in without a second thought.
"Were the kidnappers caught?"
"The navy was deployed and they've seized the boat. But the kidnappers jumped overboard. It was pitch black, so only two of the lackeys were caught. Penelope Hale got away."
Vera Warner was just surprised. 'I never would have thought such an unassuming woman could orchestrate such a sophisticated plan.'
