He believed whatever Luna Warner said without question. He was so infatuated with her that she had him wrapped around her little finger.
As Luna Warner spoke, she squeezed out a few tears. This was the one thing Henry Stone could never resist. He tenderly caressed her face.
"Luna, don't cry. Just tell me what you want me to do."
Luna Warner sobbed, "I just don't want to be misunderstood, Brother Hugh. That woman is a human trafficker. She deserved a horrible death anyway. I only wanted to convince her to leave, but she tried to attack me."
"I believe you. People like her deserve to die. You were just too kind and wanted to let her live, and now you've brought all this trouble on yourself."
"Brother Hugh, I want to shut that woman up for good. She's in critical condition right now. Even though she's woken up, it's probably just a final burst of energy before death."
Unwittingly, Luna Warner had already come up with an excuse for him.
