Hearing this, Vera Warner shot her a contemptuous look. The gaze made Luna Warner feel a chill run down her spine, and she instinctively stepped back.
"Have you lost your memory? Did you really forget what you did to me five years ago?"
"I told you, I can explain everything. I had no choice back then. Besides, I only did it to protect you!"
Luna Warner tried to make herself sound noble, still not daring to let Vera know the truth about what happened back then.
Of course, the one thing she absolutely could not let Vera find out was that Victor Morgan was the father of her child!
Vera watched her with an intrigued smile. "Since you claim you had your reasons, I'll give you the chance to explain yourself now."
The question left Luna dumbfounded. How was she supposed to come up with a convincing lie on such short notice?
