Vera Warner wasn't afraid of fighting these men. She wasn't even worried about getting hurt. What she feared was that they would use these innocent children against her.
And just like that, her worst fear came true.
She watched as the man quickly backed away and opened a crate in front of him. More than ten children with their hands tied poured out, crying and screaming. Vera's heart instantly plummeted.
Vera quickly scanned the children for Zola Morgan, but he was nowhere to be seen.
She recalled that some children had already been taken away when she arrived, and others hadn't even been brought onto the boat. The thought made Vera frantic with worry.
"Don't you want to save these kids? Let's see what's faster, your hands or us!"
Vera didn't immediately understand what he meant. Then, the man suddenly kicked one of the children beside him. Horrified, Vera shouted, "What are you doing? Are you even human?"
