Vera had painstakingly performed a surgery on Victor Morgan that lasted over three hours, only to be told at the final moment, as she was suturing, that her house was on fire.
Worried about Chloe Warner and Zola Morgan, Vera handed over the critical task of suturing to the hospital's department head at the last minute.
However, she never expected that after rushing back, she would discover it was merely a prank. Vera immediately hurried back to the hospital, where the department head informed her that everything had gone smoothly, much to her relief.
But now, after two days of meticulous care, Victor Morgan had finally woken up. Yet, the look he gave Vera was that of a complete stranger, and when he spoke, it wasn't her name that he called.
