It wasn't that Vera Warner didn't trust Victor Morgan. But hearing their gentle conversation made her realize he still had deep feelings for Sylvia Schuyler.
After all, they had once been so deeply in love. The thought of Victor seeing Sylvia again, and remembering how he had loved only her after losing his memory, set off alarm bells in her mind.
'Perhaps Victor is only with me because of our two children.'
These thoughts threw Vera into a bit of a panic. She didn't know if Victor truly wouldn't be coming home tonight. If he didn't, was there any point in them continuing?
Meanwhile, Victor Morgan carried Sylvia Schuyler to the bathroom. Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly heard a scream from inside. Startled, Victor rushed back in.
He opened the door to find Sylvia naked on the floor, blood trickling from a cut on her head. It looked like she had lost her footing and fallen.
"Sylvia, hang in there! I'm taking you to the hospital right now."
