The first thing Specter could do was poison Chloe. Only then would Ron hesitate to make any rash moves.
Ideally, this would get her to a hospital for emergency treatment. That was the only way to contact Vera Warner's group and give them a chance to rescue Chloe.
Ron, however, was hesitant. "Our organization's doctors are just as good as any outsider's. Arrange for treatment at once. Enough of this nonsense."
Specter had no choice. Since Ron refused to send the girl to a hospital, he could only immediately have his people prepare, hoping nothing would go wrong.
Meanwhile, Vera Warner and Damon Larson worked through the night and finally pinpointed the location by morning. It wasn't in Aethelgard at all, but in the distant city of Zenthorpe.
"Victor, this place is quite remote. Satellite imagery shows no helipads nearby."
