Vera had to make the situation clear to Ron. Even though this was his territory, Victor had come prepared. If they really came to blows, it would only lead to devastating losses for both sides.
As soon as Vera finished speaking, Victor gave a signal. The main gate of the base opened again, and in walked the men Victor had brought.
Ron was an expert in these matters. One look was all it took for him to know these men were far from ordinary. Just as Vera had said, if a fight broke out, the consequences would be brutal.
But there were a few things Ron couldn't understand. "I'd really like to know how you found this place. This is arguably the most secret of all our bases, and all the signals are jammed. Did Guischa tip you off?"
Seeing the unconscious Guischa on the ground, it was only natural for Ron to be suspicious. He even suspected that Guischa had intentionally let Victor take Chloe from him earlier.
