It wasn't as if Victor Morgan had committed some heinous crime. The only reason Vera Warner had gotten so angry was that the matter was a huge sore spot for her.
On second thought, she realized Victor Morgan had only been trying to help. Besides, if he didn't still have feelings for her, he wouldn't have chased after her and spent so long trying to calm her down.
Victor Morgan raised both hands in surrender and vowed decisively, "Alright, alright. I promise nothing like this will ever happen again. You can stop being angry now, can't you?"
Vera Warner pouted, sitting in the driver's seat with her arms crossed. She shot him a couple of looks, but seeing how sincere he seemed, her anger subsided.
"Fine, I'll let you off the hook this time. But if you dare make me angry again, you won't get off so easily."
Victor Morgan pulled her into his arms, reassuring her again, "I'll remember all of it. By the way, was there a reason you suddenly came looking for me?"
