Vera Warner stared at the contents in disbelief, unwilling to believe it was real. No wonder she'd dreamed of Ian Lockwood reaching out to her from a pool of blood.
Even in his final moments, Ian Lockwood had been worried about her.
Yet Faye Lockwood was his own sister. The two of them used to be so close, but now, things had come to this.
The other boat was about to depart. Vera Warner shouted, "Stop the boat! Stop it right now!"
The crew naturally looked to Ron for his cue. Only when he nodded did they stop the boat. Vera Warner sprinted forward and stormed directly into the cabin.
Faye Lockwood had just sat down and hadn't even had a chance to breathe a sigh of relief when she saw Vera Warner charging toward her. Her heart nearly leaped out of her chest, but she feigned composure.
She even managed to maintain a smile as Vera Warner reached her side.
"Vera, what are you doing here? Did Brother Ron agree to let you go? That's wonderful! We can go back together."
